The days are flying by on this blog tour and I can’t even begin to express how much fun I’m having with it. Thank you joining me; I hope you’ve been having as much fun as I am. ?

However, not to disclude those that might be joining for the first time—hello! Welcome! I’ve been introducing, and in some cases re-introducing, the characters that make up Wolf’s stories through tiny teasers from the novel. Glad to have you here! There are a lot more posts on the way and I hope I can interest you enough to join us for the rest of them.

So, it’s been a few months since I’ve had a chance to sit down (figuratively) with these characters but for those moments when I’ve be reliving them through edits. The characters are much less fun in edits than they are during writing, let me tell you. That’s when you start doing the… Why in the hell would you say that?!.. kind of thing. Or… You really are a whiny little brat; did you know that?! Oddly enough, there’s one character in the Wolf series that I’ve never had a harsh word to say on. She is Wolf’s little light, although I doubt the rest of the characters know that yet, and as I’ve been writing the series I’ve come to understand that there’s a lot more to her than her Beauty and the Beast pyjamas.

However, before I jump to the teaser, I want to take this chance to remind you to read through to the end of the post to find out how you could win your very own signed, print copy of Wolf en Garde, a sterling silver (nickel and lead-free) Howling Wolf Bangle, and a $20 gift certificate to the Less Than Three Press book market! My way to say thank you for your time, your comments, but most of all, your company.

And now to Hannah…

Tiny Teaser: Introducing – Hannah O’Connell

They finished their adventures with a visit to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. It was there that Hannah and Isaac perked up and took off their this-feels-like-a-school-trip expressions. But the burst of energy everyone experienced at that point was short-lived and the last of its kind for the day. As they drove back to the townhouse, they were promised future visits to the National Gallery of Art, the Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Museum of National History, as well as the Center for the Performing Arts. The thought made Lyle’s head spin. In the week they would be in D.C., Lyle was going to see more of the world by way of museum and memorial than he’d seen in his entire life. They really had led a very narrow, uneventful existence, if one conveniently ignored the part of their lives that had intimate contact with the things most people only saw in horror movies.

“And don’t think this is all going to be nothing but boring old statues,” Henry said, casting a quick glance at the seats behind him through his rearview mirror. “I haven’t forgotten that our Hannah has an affinity for gardening. I have a special place picked out for you, Hannah. The Botanic Gardens. That place is going to blow your flower-loving mind!”

The look on Isaac’s face after he realized he’d groaned aloud was too hilarious. Lyle was unable to contain a snort of laughter but, surprisingly, Henry laughed right along with Lyle.

“Don’t you worry, Isaac. I have something in mind for you,” Henry promised. “Something no boy would be able to pass up in a hundred years!”

Isaac cast a confused but interested glance at Lyle and then turned his gaze to the rearview. “Oh? What’s that, Mr. Connor?”

“Henry,” Henry corrected, his mouth set in a wide grin. “And it’s only the bestest thing in the whole world.” His eyes flicked left, right, left, right, gauging his passenger’s expressions. “A ghost and vampire tour!”

Randy and Lyle both choked at the same time, and Vaughn slipped an arm around Randy’s shoulders. “Oh, now, I don’t know about that,” Vaughn said slowly. “That might be a little much for these guys—”

“No, it won’t!” Isaac straightened in his seat, shaking his head. “That sounds awesome!”

“The sparkle kind?” Hannah asked. “Because Daddy says that—”

“Hannah,” Vaughn warned.

Hannah’s bright-eyed expression faltered. “What? I’m just asking because—”

“Yes, we know,” Vaughn said. “That was just a story, Hannah.” He eyed Henry’s reflected gaze. “I swear, the things these kids read these days.”

Such a cute excerpt and museums are such fun places. My sister’s been trying to get the family to visit her so she could take us to the Smithsonian. It sounds like a fun place =)

Hannah! You know better than to talk about the sparkly kind.

Here Lyle is contemplating how narrow their perspectives have been, and Hannah knows about the sparkly kind.

I really love how well you capture the family dynamic. It’s quite fun to read, practically hear my own family in it sometimes. xD

What is this “editing” you speak of? Is this one of them newfangled ideas them hippie types have got you doing? <-For those who don't understand jokes in text form, this is all meant in fun.

Hannah has no fear of reprisal. XD

Thank you for that, Frost! Hannah is one of my favourite characters and I’m always crazy happy (perhaps even too much) when someone else likes her.

Good luck with the giveaway, my friend! <3

You captured the eagerness, curiousity, and innocence so perfectly, it is a delight to read! 😀

You allow let them be kids. And they are wonderful enough to be just that. 😀 It is so refreshing to see that an author out there can still do that. 🙂

This so cool that they are at the Smithsonian. I went when I was a kid and loved it. Planning on taking our kids there in 2017.

“A ghost and vampire tour!” Randy and Lyle both choked at the same time. *chokes on coffee right along with them from trying to laugh* I keep forgetting that there should be a disclaimer about drinking and reading your posts. Something about my hard head having a difficult time with lessons. XD They really are little jewels, these kids. I love it. Very cute and adorable. Interesting little fact: my son loves flowers. My kids have flower picking wars on our walks by the (large) pond. If Aiden picked one up, Catelyn has to pick one. He likes the purple… Read more »

*laughs* What fun would the novel be without a little tie-in from the previous one. (And perhaps a little foreshadowing as well? *grins*)

Your kids sound awesome. You are truly blessed, and I bet your kitchen is overflowing with their “treasures”. 😀

Good luck with the giveaway and thanks for the comment! <3
