Cooper Causey spent a lifetime eluding the demons of his youth and suppressing the destructive power inside him. But a disconcerting voicemail lures Cooper back home to the coast of South Carolina and to Warfield—the deserted plantation where his darkness first awakened. While searching for his missing grandmother, Cooper uncovers the truth about his ancestry and becomes a pawn in an ancient war between two supernatural races. In order to protect the only man he’s ever loved, Cooper must embrace the dark power threatening to consume him and choose sides in a deadly war between the righteous and the fallen.

This book is completely different then any other paranormal book that I have read. It is dark, twisted, and a bit on the scarey side if I am honest but at the same time it was a very interesting read. If I had to describe this book I would say it is a book that is a battle between good and evil, Heaven and Hell, right and wrong, love and hate.

Cooper is one of the main characters in this book. From the very get go you can tell that there is something different about Cooper but just not exactly sure what it is. One thing that is certain about him is he is in love with RJ (Randy) and even though he does not believe that that love will ever be reciprocated it has not stopped him from loving him even so many years after the last time they seen each other. The thing is though, Cooper has no clue about his families past or their bloodline. It has never been spoken about and he is in for a crash course in finding out when his grandmother disappears and he has to return to his home town again after being away for ten years. And consequently running into Randy again also.

From the moment Cooper steps back into town his world is turned upside down and things he never knew existed suddenly do and he is faced with an evil that he has never imagined. Cooper has always known that something was inside of him trying to get out but he never knew or understood what it was, he just knew that it could be dangerous. And because of his blood line he has Alexander (an evil vampire for a better word) doing everything possible to get his hands and teeth on him including using those he loves the most to get what he wants.

Cooper and Randy are both in for a ride that neither ever seen coming and they are about to learn first hand that Angels, demons, vampires, witches, Heaven, and Hell are very much real and they both will have to fight to the bitter end to be able to stay alive and too be able to finally love each other freely the way it should have always been.

As said earlier this book is very different from any other paranormal book that I have read but I have to be honest and say this book sucked me in till the bitter end. It was so full of action and mystery that as soon as one thing was resolved another thing popped up. There was never a dull moment in it and it was so full of mystery surrounding pretty much everything that happens it that the book held me captured the complete way through.

The one thing I really like about this book, the way that Greg Howard ended the book, it can either be left alone and no more added to it or Greg can go back and add another book to it and make a series out of it. That makes it very interesting in my opinion is not something that I have seen many times when it comes to the end of a book. I think that there will be a lot of people who will enjoy this read like I did. It was a very interesting read that is for sure!!!!

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
