Things are going well for androgynous model Ollie Petroskovic, ex-Marine Kade Alme, and their business, Haven Investigations, until rock star Jacob Elias shows up in need of their services… and trouble follows.

Jacob is a playboy with a serious penchant for kink, slaves, and sex toys. He’s also Ollie’s ex—and all that implies. With the media exploiting his personal life, a stalker sending blood-soaked “gifts,” a bumbling security team, and a family he can’t trust as far as he could throw them, Jacob is in desperate need of a bodyguard for his latest tour, and Kade can’t refuse.

While Kade deals with new doubts about his partnership with Ollie and struggles with reminders of his war injuries, Jacob’s stalker escalates from blackmail and threats to murder. As Kade and Ollie work to keep Jacob safe and find the culprit behind the attack, a web of family secrets, lies, and abuse slowly emerges, leading up to a final confrontation that they might not walk away from—and that will have lasting repercussions for Kade and his relationship with Ollie.

What the what????? This book was such an unexpected surprise. Seeing as how I did not read book one I guess that could explain why that is. Every time I turned around there was something new that popped up that I was not expecting. This was a very good mystery/suspense with a good leading couple.

Kade and Ollie own an investigation business together but Kade is the man power and Ollie is the computer wiz. These two men have been to hell and back. They both lost Nathan which was Ollie’s older brother, Kade was kidnapped by his own father in hopes of making a man out of him and exercising the gay out of him. But both men came through it together.

Then Jacob (Ollie’s ex rocker boyfriend) shows back up not only wanting Ollie back but also wanting their help trying to find who has been bad mouthing him to reporters and sending him not so nice gifts and death threats.

After some debating on both of Kade and Ollie’s parts they have decided to take the case and find out who is behind everything. That is when things start to happen. Explosions, people turning up dead, and a lot more questions then answers. The further these three men get into the investigation the closer they come to the killer and the more dangerous the situation turns. When the killer is finally reveled so is all the secrets that led up to all this mess. In the end Kade ends up hurt and the kicker of it is when he wakes up he himself has been kidnapped. The question is will he once again be reached in time or will it be too late for Kade this time and the end of everything he loves and knows.

This book really did blow me away. The mystery behind who was after Jacob was off the charts. I never would have expected all the revaluations that was revealed to come to light and I definitely did not see it ending the way that it did. It was a very adventurous read with so much mystery and suspense. I cannot wait till the next book comes out because it kills me when a book ends in a cliffhanger like this one did. It leaves my mind to wonder what is too come and how it will turn out. Cannot wait to see what Lissa comes up with in the next book!!

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
