2nd Edition

One moment Riley Murrough is living a normal life working in a coffee shop, and the next he’s running for his life from demons, learns he bears the mark of a shape-shifter king from a magical realm, and—worst of all—he’s destined to become the mated prince to the arrogant tiger shifter he would rather strangle.

Khalon, the shifter king, is equally distraught at the idea of being bound to a human prince, and along with his Soldati warriors, he sets out to return Riley to his own world where he belongs. On their journey they might discover why the priestess brought them together—if they can escape the demons and make it to her alive.

First Edition published as The Soldati Prince in Charmed & Dangerous by JCP Books LLC, 2015.

*5 Stars* I’d give it more but it only goes up to 5.

OMG, I loved page one. Right off the bat. The first paragraph fooled me and I fell for it and by the end of that first page I was laughing my head off. I have read hundreds of books and there is less than 10% that I can say I loved page one. Wow.

Here’s the plot in a nutshell, minus the ending. Don’t want to spoil the story:

Riley is minding his own business, eating his lemon cake (mmm, lemon) in a bakery, when he is chased by demons. He’s carried off into another land by a tiger shifter, who rescued him. Khalon discovers that Riley is his mate and this makes him mad and disturbs him in more ways than one. How can this be? A human.

Khalon decides to go consult the Priestess and correct this mistake. Him and his Warriors take Riley and they journey to see the Priestess. On the way, they’re attacked by the demons and hole up in a village. They’re there for a few weeks. In the meantime, Khalon and Reilly grow closer. A tragedy happens and…. I won’t tell you the rest, but it’s an awesome ending.

I looooved this book. Every page was a treasure. I’m so glad the author is working on book 2.

I love shifter books and I love stories that involve a human going from our world to another. This story had both of them. Score! Add to that awesomeness, a human who has a way with words that makes me roll on the floor laughing. Bonus points! There’s also bad guys, fighting, threat of doom. This story has all the components of a story that I love. I love this book.

Riley and Khalon are perfect opposites that go together, like peanut butter and jelly. Khalon with his rigid, rough and all muscle exterior and Riley with his sweetness and innocence, but with a mouth on him that causes everyone around him to giggle and laugh.

This story flowed like mulled wine in a pewter tankard. Fragrant and delicious. Can I have seconds please? I love this book.

The ending was awesome and stupendous. It was also sad, because I didn’t want it to end. Book 2 is being written as you read this. I assume coming out in 2017. Can’t wait.

I highly highly, to infinity and beyond, recommend this book. If you love shifter stories and magic and humans going from one land to another and enjoy laughing, you will absolutely love this book. Go to the Kindle store and get one. Quick.
