Can love be found in seven minutes?

Heavy metal singer Stone Manson never acknowledged his attraction to men. But when he meets sexy cross-dresser Devon at a party and spends Seven Minutes in Heaven with him, he can’t deny his reaction. His confusion leads him to mess up—big time—with Devon, but after some soul-searching, Stone decides to do whatever it takes to show Devon he’s worth the risk.

Devon’s got a thing for hot, tattooed rock stars—just not the sexually conflicted and closeted ones. Stone’s persistence has Devon warming up to the idea of the singer in his bed, and maybe even in his life, until a threat emerges from Devon’s past. Now it’s Devon’s turn to trust Stone or both their lives could be in jeopardy.

Remember middle school and the party game “Seven Minutes in Heaven”? Now picture a muscular tattooed rock star fresh off a breakup with his girlfriend of 8 years, and a willowy cross-dressing guy with toffee-colored eyes and “pillow plush” lips, and you have a great start to this little gem of a novella.

I think there’s a real art to writing a novella. You need a plot that doesn’t feel too big or complex, satisfying character development, good pacing that lets the plot come to a natural conclusion without feeling too rushed and a few scenes between the MCs that show their sizzling chemistry.

“Seven Minutes in Heaven” succeeds on all fronts. Stone accepts his attraction to “sex on stilettos” Devon after some honest introspection – thankfully without a lot of angsty pearl-clutching – and the ending neatly resolves Devon’s threat. The author even gives us two interesting secondary characters, Oisin and Matty, who are soon getting their own story.

“Seven Minutes In Heaven” packs a lot into just 55 pages. It’s an unexpected treat and I’m looking forward to reading more from Grace Kilian Delancey.

Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.  Frederick Douglas

I distinctly remember that day in school when, all of a sudden, those squiggles on the page made sense and I could read. It has changed my life in ways I still cannot comprehend.

My favorite M/M tropes are friends-to-lovers, murder/mysteries, amnesia, hurt/healing and historicals. Shifters, vampires, paranormal? Meh … not in my wheelhouse, but I’m a sucker for a well-written well-plotted book, no matter the genre.

Favorite authors includes Brandon Witt, Rick R. Reed, Abigail Roux, Jay Northcote, JL Merrow, KJ Charles, Lane Hayes, Marshall Thornton and so many more.
