Interview with Tessa Baily

wound tight

Please welcome award winning author Tessa Baily to the blog today chatting about her first M/M romance Wound Tight.

Our question for Tessa:

Since this is your first MM book, we’d LOVE to hear about your decision to write it and how you enjoyed it. Also, do you have plans to write M/M again?

First of all, thank you so much for having me! As you mentioned, this is my first M/M book and I appreciate you welcoming me with a great review of WOUND TIGHT, into a community of authors I admire. I didn’t plan to write a M/M while dreaming up this series. I knew my editor was looking to add more M/M books to the Brazen line (Author Megan Erickson broke that ground), though, so the option must have been whispering in the back of my mind.

When I plotted this book, I tried several heroines out with Renner (my closed off factory owner) and none of them fit. I threw out idea after idea. I’m kind of disappointed in myself for taking so long to realize he was gay, but when I added Milo (his security guard love interest) to the Made in Jersey world, it was like angels singing. I didn’t take the responsibility of writing M/M lightly, but it ended up being a really enjoyable journey for me. I love these men and I love their story.

Currently, I don’t have any active plans to write more M/M. I’m waiting to see if people like this one first! LOL. But personally, I would love writing more, so I’m thinking of ways to build more male couples into my upcoming series. Thanks again for having me!

When CEO Renner Bastion walks into a room, everyone keeps their distance. Well, everyone but the sarcastic, tattooed, Boston-bred security guard whose presence has kept Renner in New Jersey longer than intended. As if the unwanted attraction isn’t unsettling enough, Renner finds out his protector isn’t as unavailable as originally thought.

Milo Bautista just came out to his wealthy, ultra-confident boss, a man he secretly respects and admires…in more ways than he’ll admit. Worldly, experienced Renner would never look in his direction, let alone share some of that confidence he wears like a cloak, so Milo has set his sights on someone else to be his first.

Until Renner offers him private lessons in seduction…

Each book in the Made in Jersey series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

About Tessa

Tessa Baily
Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of nine years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

I love a man in uniform! Cops, Firefighters, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, they are my favorite! I also love some angst in a good story and friends-to-lovers. M/M erotica alone doesn’t do it for me. It’s gotta have a story and some conflict. BDSM when I’m in that mood and threesomes with 3 men or 2 men and 1 woman, again when the mood strikes. Hetero? Sure, if it’s really good. HEA ONLY!

I read a couple of Tessa’s books (Chase Me and Need Me) so I’m quite curious on how she takes M/M story. Thanks for the interview
