An actor in the closet, a sheriff in love, and memories that won’t stay hidden.

Jordan Darby is known as the King of Christmas. The star of eight made-for-TV Christmas movies, the leading man who always gets his girl. Filming at Crooked Tree Ranch in Montana, in the ice and snow, Jordan is fighting to make a go of his new company and dealing with fears of exposure over one huge secret. After all, who the hell would buy into him being a romantic straight lead if rumors about him being gay were proven to be true?

Sheriff Ryan Carter is advising on the new movie being made at Crooked Tree. He hoped this would be one day of work and nothing more. Until, that is, he meets the hero. But while Jordan is sexy, he’s also very much stuck in the closet—everything that Ryan doesn’t need in his life. And then lust becomes part of the equation, and Ryan’s quiet life is thrown into turmoil.

Their story unfolds against the chaos that overtakes the ranch, with Adam regaining memories that terrify him and make him look at Justin differently, and Justin leaving the ranch to make things right. Only through trusting in love and friendship can Justin and Adam learn to look to the future instead of letting the past destroy everything. But will they ever see clearly enough to do that?

What a fabulous read. What I like most about it you ask? Well there is not only two main character in this book but there is actually four main characters with a huge handful of close seconds as support characters. So when you this series, it is not a serious that is widely based around two people but more so based around a large group of people who may not necessarily be blood related family but family none the less. And not only that but it is about people that will be a part of the “family” in the near future.

Jordan is many things. He has his hands in so many different fires that it is amazing that he is able to keep up with it all. He is an actor. He is part of the production team. He is part owner of the production company. He is a screenwriter. He is a twin. And he is in the closet with his sexuality. That is not necessarily something he is thrilled about but he is because he does not want to risk it affecting his and his brother and their other partners production company since it is newly off the ground. Jordan wants what everyone else in life wants, to find the man to love and spend his life with.

Ryan is the sheer in their small town. He is the brother to four older brothers. He is an uncle to a niece and nephew that he loves and spoils rotten. He is a friend to all and he is openly gay. Ryan is also lonely thinking he may never the man he will fall in love with and spend his life with. But little does Ryan and Jordan know but they are about to find exactly what they have both been looking for and hoping to find in each other. It will not be easy since Jordan is only their in Montana on location for six weeks and the fact that Jordan is still in the closet could pose a problem in the future if things keep heading that direction. But love does not care about problems that can and will arise. All it cares about is the other half of it feeling the same way. These two men have some things they need to figure out, mainly being whether to end it between them when the film is done or do they continue and hope everything works out for them long distantly.

Justin has so many secrets that he carries with him that they are destroying himself a little at a time. Sam is his rock though and Sam keeps him from drowning in pain and sorrow. One of the biggest secrets that Justin is carrying around with him revolves around his best friend Adam. He can see that him being home is causing Adam stress more and more each day. He is trying to give Adam some distance to work all the memory loss out on his own without adding more confusion to the mix but it is not easy doing that and the secrets that he is keeping from Adam about the past that Adam cannot remember is slowly killing him.

Adam has been having nightmares each night about what happened to him in some of the time that he has his memory loss over. The nightmares are getting harder and harder to deal with but Adam has Ethan by his side to help him to try and deal with everything that he is dreaming. It is so hard in Adam not knowing the details of his past and Adam is really starting to wonder if the dreams of Justin killing the men that was trying to protect Adam and the tattoo artist that Adam cared for is true.

The more Adam remembers or thinks that he is remembering is slowly taking its time not only on Adam but also on Justin, Ethan, and Sam also.

Justin decides the best thing to do is leave town and give Adam some space to try and work out what he is feeling and what he truly believes. Sam of course will not be left behind so he covers all that he needs to have covered at the ranch and they take off. The question is will this be enough to help everyone involved or will it make things worse? Will Adam ever realize that Justin did not do the things that he is dreaming about or will he continue to believe that Justin is not the person he thought him to be? Can things ever be the same between not only Justin and Adam as best friends again but can they ever be the same between Justin and Ethan again as they are brothers and Ethan is pretty much stuck in the middle?

This book was very good. Like I said it was not only about these four men but it was also about everyone around them. I love that there was some break up in the drama between these four men and brought in some drama from other people also such as Micah (Jordan’s twin brother) and his love life and Eddie (Ryan’s brother) and his woes in his love life also. Like I said these people was family though not all blood related but family none the less and it was fun being able to read about their lives. Great addition to the series and wonderful continuation of previous couples issues and new love too.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
