Everyone deserves a second chance. Or do they? Sean and Martim fell in love at Harvard. Things broke apart when Martim fell into a downward spiral of addiction after his father died. Sean kicked him out but has regretted it ever since. He’s never gotten over losing Martim. But then, not many aspects of his life have lived up to his collegiate dreams.

When he’s sent to evaluate Martim’s family hotel for foreclosure, Sean is once again in the position to put Martim out on the street. In the time since they parted, Martim has pulled himself together, although both health and financial problems linger as a result of his years as an addict. Can the two men bridge the gap of distance and time to rekindle their relationship, or will they fall apart again under the burdens of guilt and disease?

Set in Lisbon, Portugal, this is the story of lovers reunited after more than a decade apart, and their second chance at romance.

This was a book best described as a second chance at love when both parties messed it up the first time around.

Fate sometimes has a way of stepping in and trying to correct a wrong. Fate can give us the opportunity to right a wrong but we have to be the one to step up and take control of the reins and actually do something about it.

When Sean is sent to Lisbon to foreclose on a loan his ex has on his hotel, Sean knows this is not going to end well. Martim does not realize just how bad the finances are when it comes to his hotel. His Tia did everything she could to not only save Martim but to try and keep his hotel alive. That included borrowing money from what could only be called a loan shark for big businesses. Most of the money went towards the hotel and upgrading it but some of the money went to treatment for Martim to help him get sober andto treat him from his current illness and hopefully cure him.

So when Sean shows up with the news of possible foreclosure on the hotel, Martim is at a loss as how to come up with the money. And moreover he is reliving his past hurt that was caused by Sean and the hurt that he caused in return.

Can these two men work togther to come up with a way to save the hotel from foreclosure and more importantly can they find it in their hearts to take a chance on each other again? Can Sean walk away from the job he truly hates and help the man that he still lives even after all this time or will he chose to continue on with his life the way it is? So many possibilities and so little time to decide what the best scenario is.

This was a great read of love winning out over hurt and past betrayal. It was a bit touch and go for a while between these two and I really wondered if they was going to get it togther or not. But in the end they made the decision that was going to be what was best for both of them. In the end they finally found happiness whether it was togther or with other people. I really enjoyed this read. I look forward to more of DevVentham’s work in the future.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
