When two very different men are stranded on a deserted island, will opposites attract, or will they end up killing each other—if the elements don’t get them first?
Marc Reed is an expert scuba diver and leads underwater tours of the infamous shipwrecks scattered around Bermuda. When a robbery forces him and his boss’s son—a man he despises on principle—to take shelter on an uncharted island, he might have to reassess his opinion of the spoiled snob.
Ian Blythe-Darcy II lives a life most would envy. He’s a trust-fund kid being groomed to take over his father’s empire of hotels and resorts. But it’s not a life that matches what’s in his heart. He’s in the closet and engaged to a socialite he doesn’t love, but he’s about to get a crash course in being true to himself—and maybe learn money can’t buy happiness after all.
World of Love: Stories of romance that span every corner of the globe.
What happens when two very opposite men are stranded on a deserted island for days on end? Truths come to light not only between them but to themselves also.
When Marc met Ian he thought he was a pompous, rich, trust fund kid who was spoiled and lived off of daddies money.
When Ian met Marc he thought Marc was a jerk who could not control his mouth and what came out of it.
But the new the two men was stranded on the island together, things got real between them pretty quickly. Marc realized after Ian stormed off after Marc once again verbally abused him for being rich that he was taking his anger out on Ian for what his ex did to him. He came to realize that he was in the wrong for olaacing his anger on Ian’s back and knew he owed him an apology.
As it turns out Ian is pretty handy to have around and not as spoiled as Marc originally thought. Ian knows how to build a fire, he knows how to catch fish, and clean them. He also knows the importance of boiling water to clean it. So it turned out if Marc had to be stranded with anyone Ian is the perfect person for that.
Marc also wonders if Ian is more like Marc then he originally thought when it comes to sexuality. Though Ian has a female fiancé, Marc keeps getting gaydar vibes from him. Marc realizes hat Ian must be in the closet and not willing to push him to come out even though he finds himself extremely attracted to Ian.
Ian is so far in the closet he does not think he will ever see the light of day again. So to be stranded with the man that is definitely the type of man Ian could fall for and he is gay to boot makes it extremely hard to do the right thing while they await for someone to find them.
The more time and days they spend togther, a friendship forms and both men start to open up to the other. Right when Ian finally admits he is gay and attracted to Marc they are rescued.
Now the question is will Ian go back in the closet to please his father or will he find his way out and see where things will go with Marc.
This is a great read about someone in the closet who finds his life partner when he least expects it. It is also about grabbing ahold of what makes you happy even if it will leave you broke and disowned because in the end money will not keep you warm at night and another human being will. I really enjoyed reading about Ian’s struggles to come to grip with who he is and what he wants out of life. It was not an easy journey but it turns out amazing in the end.
