The men of the super-secret Skull Blaster unit have put down their weapons long enough to find love – and even husbands – from Arizona to Alaska and the Olympic Peninsula. Now their new families and friends are hoping to find their own happily-ever-afters. Werewolf Sawyer Quinton’s brothers have finally found their mates in the Drake brothers, Dakota’s former packmates. Things get off to a rocky start, but love conquers all. Or does it? Can the Drakes overcome the gay bashing they suffered at their father’s hands and be true to themselves and the men they love? Or are some lessons just too hard to unlearn?
While I really enjoyed Greg’s narration, I wasn’t super thrilled with the actual story.
It didn’t help that I was thoroughly pissed over the beginning of the story, but I eventually got over it.
Mostly I just thought there was too much sex. *gasps* I know, what the hell, right?! But…hear me out! I just felt like the super abundant sexy times got in the way of telling any kind of meaningful relationship story.
Too much sex and too little relationship development coupled with the sometimes confusing multiple POV from everyone and their brother, and I was just left feeling a little flat.
Note: This is the fifth book in the Assassin/Shifter series, and I would not recommend trying to read it as a standalone.
