Callum Ross has a tough decision to make. After years of working for the covert ops agency in the UK and owning his own security firm in the US, he’s forced to choose between the business he loves, and the new relationship with his partner, Josh Cooper.
A bottle of whiskey and Josh almost being killed helps Cal make the decision, and he moves to the UK with plans to set up his own security consultancy. Then the head of the covert ops agency where Josh now works asks Cal for help. Agency operatives and their families are being injured or killed, including Cal’s friends.
Cal is asked to investigate with Josh’s assistance.
As the number of victims increase, they’re aware either of them could be the next target for the killer.
I have to say that I love this series. There is drama, intrigue, mystery, mayhem, murder, suspense, and of course love.
This book is a continuation of book one in this series and boy did Sue Brown decide to leave this book in a manor cliffhanger. I will definitely be waiting impatiently for the next book after the way this one ended.
Cal and Josh are back in this book again hitting it hard and heavy trying to figure out who it is that is targeting the other operatives and their families. They in List the help of those that are close to them that they trust to help them try and figure out just what is going on and why before someone else is hurt or worse yet, someone else is killed.
One of the fellow operatives Jessie seems to be the main target and his boyfriend is targeted just to hurt him. Dan is seriously injured and Cal and Josh are doing everything in their power in order to not only try and protect them but to also find out who is behind all of it.
No one is safe from the one behind all of the killings. Everyone is a target and no one knows who is next. Will it be another operative or their family? Will is be Josh or Cal? Will they finally get to Jessie or by extension Dan? Who is behind it? Is it someone they know and trust or is it someone with a reason behind their actions that no one knows or understands?
This book will draw you in and keep you on the edge of your seat. It will leave you wondering who is behind everything and if they will mess up some how and finally be caught. But most of all and most importantly it will leave you wanting more. Sue Brown definitely has a gift when it comes to capturing the readers attention with her books. She is an author that envokes emotions in her readers and loving her books when they are done. That is exactly what she did with this book and series as a whole. Excellent read!! Definitely a book worth reading.
