Author Pen Names – Poll

There’s a new poll on the top right hand sidebar which is for authors only. Because of yesterday’s spirited discussion on author pen names as a result of Alexi’s post – she’s making more work for me already, I knew it! 🙂 – as promised I’m posting a  poll to get a read of how many M/M authors use pen names. I have divided this into male and female authors because my own informal poll yesterday of the guys indicated that male M/M authors tended to use pen names less frequently.

If you’re an M/M author please vote. Of course this is not a scientific poll and I don’t know until you do vote how large is the survey group, but it would be fun to know how many of you have pen names percentage wise, and how it breaks down in terms of male/female M/M authors. Please vote only once. 🙂

Thanks guys.

Don't worry, Friday the shit will hit the fan in my face and you will be in the clear. 🙂 And on Saturday Tam will do her thing and everyone will be in a nice mood for the weekend.

  • I said yes, and while I don’t hide that I am a woman (hard to do if you sign things “Pam”) but it never once occurred to me to use my real name. Why? The bulk of the genre and of my interactions with people in it are on line and with only marginal control. Having been stalked once, I don’t plan to make it easy for the next nutjob.

  • Yes, I use a pen name. It’s like Clark Kent and Superman. I have this whole other really fabulous life that no one knows about…. muwaahaawhaahhaaaa….

    • Eden
I think your pen name is one of the sexiest. ‘Garden of Eden’ and then the words slut and harlot after it. 🙂

    • Hi Angel
You did the right thing. I’m trying to find out if all M/M authors use pen names. Yesterday we found out why those who did, did what they did. (What a convoluted sentence) 🙂

  • I must say, the reaction came as something of a shock for me. On my blog I can say what I want because no one reads it. I can suggest microwaving kittens for fun and no one cares. Here, you say one little thing and BAM, you have fifty comments to reply to in a thoughtful and intelligent manner. I wasn’t prepared. I think I ran out of brain juice (no comments, thank you). Never again!

    • Hi Alexi
You’ve seen the reactions to my posts so why are you surprised?

      >>Never again!< < Did you mean never again will you do a post on the site? One skirmish and you retire from the fray? I thought you Brits had a lot of gumption and balls. heh! Chicken!

      • (Wails) I didn’t think anyone would *care* what *I* said!

But no, I meant never again will I post something provocative on your blog without being prepared for the response. And also, buying extra brain juice.

I have a perfectly lovely set of balls, thank you. They kind of came free with something else I bought online. You wanna see?
