Chance “The Chancellor” Gerhardt is a mainstay for Frontier Professional Wrestling. He’s won multiple championships and has the respect of the locker room. But after ten years at the top, Chance is looking for a new challenge. The one he gets, mentoring FPW’s young rookie, is both unexpected and unwanted.
Devin Jacobs is a hot new talent signed by Frontier Professional Wrestling. He’s always been a fan of The Chancellor, and not just because of the older man’s skill in the ring. He has it bad for the steely eyed veteran wrestler. Unfortunately for Devin, The Chancellor isn’t looking to get involved with anyone. Or is he? During long nights traveling and working together, Devin catches more than one secretly admiring glance from The Chancellor…
Devin is determined to earn victories and championships in the ring. But he’d also love the opportunity to win Chance’s heart. Can the two of them navigate their way through the hyper masculinity and backstage politics of professional wrestling to the most important victory of all? Or will their shot at love be defeated 1-2-3
Showing him the Ropes is a sweet, sexy and beautiful love story set in the professional wrestling world. The whole professional wrestling world and it’s nuances is new for me and on that respect a love story set in that world made this book a very interesting read.
Chance is one of the main guys of FPW and Devin is a newbie who got newly recruited. Chance is closed off, moody, surly and deep in the closet, whereas Devin is outgoing friendly fun and very much out and proud. They both are different in so many ways and yet they had a connection. I loved the way their connection was explored and built slowly. They both had to work at their relationship which they both did and the way they did made it for a very enjoyable read. What is also very interesting is that the author has explained a lot about the wrestling world and has turned it into an intricate part of the story and used it to lead their story forward. Apart from the main characters the book is also having plenty of very well written secondary characters who contribute a lot to story and whose story I’m looking forward to reading next. Chance and Devin and their love story was having plenty of angst but not too much and also the romantic and passionate elements which leaves you satisfied in the end.
Showing Him the Ropes is a book which will give you an enjoyable reading experience and will leave you looking forward and anticipating next book in the series and more from the wrestling world.
