What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Cody Hayes is having one epic morning-after. The hangover following a Vegas bachelor party is nothing new to him, and neither is the naked man in his bed.
His apparent marriage is a different story.
Carefully plotting every detail of his life carried Julian Canales to a Senate seat as an openly gay man. A drunken night of Truth or Dare isn’t like him… and neither is marrying a man he just met. He’d get an annulment, but the media has gotten wind of his hasty nuptials. If Julian’s political career is going to survive, he has to stay married to a man who’s his opposite in every way.
Now he must convince Cody that all they need to do is survive a conservative political rival, a heartbroken ex, their painful pasts… and an attraction neither man can fight.
Take two men who have been conditioned by their parent’s pasts to be distrustful, if not outright disbelieving, of love but who are, at their core, perfect for each other and you have the latest romance in the Dreamspun Desires series.
Yes, this was predictable, but I found it was still a fun page turner.
There’s not a lot of sexy action, with the exception of some off page or lightly mentioned sex in the beginning and it’s a looong time before we get any more action at the end, I expected that with this series, but I still found the amount of slow burn surprising considering they wake up married.
While it didn’t really offer anything unexpected, and there were some frustrating moments for me, overall it was enjoyable, and we get a tentative HEA, which I really would have liked an epilogue to really set.
Jacob Z. Flores has a way of spinning his yarn that definitely keeps me engrossed and I wouldn’t mind grabbing up another if he decides to continue with the One Fine Day series.
