2nd Edition

The path to happiness starts with acceptance, and sometimes the chance for a bright, loving future means letting go of the past.

All his life, Neil Baxter has buried a large part of himself–the part that’s attracted to other men. He married a woman and denied that side of him existed. And he plans to keep right on pretending to be straight after his beloved wife has passed away.

To help him deal with his grief, Neil’s sister-in-law convinces him to vacation at a dude ranch. There, Neil meets Cole Thompson, a young, gorgeous, unabashedly gay wrangler–who is unabashedly attracted to Neil. And try as he might, Neil cannot deny he feels the same way. But desire soon becomes something more profound as the two men get to know each other. Cole is much more than a sexy cowboy: he’s kind, spiritual, and intelligent. In fact, he’s perfect for Neil… except he’s a man, and Neil isn’t ready to let go of a lifetime of denial. If he cannot find the courage to be true to himself, he might let something wonderful slip through his fingers.

First Edition published as Trust Me by Amber Quill Press, 2011.

This book was really surprising to me. I say that because I was kind of skeptical reading it from the description but I actually loved it and I completely fell in love with one of the main characters Coke.

Neil was not my favorite person at first because he acted like such a prick. And when I say he had a way of sticking his foot in his mouth when it came to some of the things he said to Cole, I mean he truly did. Once you read the book you will understand why. So yeah Beil was not my favorite person.

Then the more I got to know his character the more I understood the Neil was so completely afraid and ashamed of th feelings he was having towards Cole that it made him act and say a lot of stuff he would later regret.

Neil did come back and redeem himself in my eyes by accepting himself for one but also by standing up for Cole and even placing himself in harms way to protect the man he was starting to have feelings for.

When the info about Cole’s ex came to light it broke my heart for Cole. Cole is such an amazing man and deserves to be with with someone just as amazing.

This book truly was an amazing read. I am so glad that I gave it a chance.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
