Three misfits, mismatched in every way—Henry Perkins, Brody Decker, and Danny Denisco—have been friends throughout high school. Now in their senior year, the boys realize their relationship is changing, that they’re falling in love. But they face opposition at every turn—from outside and from within themselves. Moving to the next level will take all the courage, understanding, and commitment they can muster. But it could happen.
Henry is a star athlete and the son of religious parents who have little concern for the future he wants. Brody is a quirky dreamer and adrenaline junkie, and Danny is an emo artist and the target of bullies. Despite their differences they’ve always had each other’s backs, and with each of them facing a new and unique set of challenges, that support is more important than ever. Is it worth risking the friendship they all depend on for the physical and romantic relationship they all desire?
In this unconventional new adult romance, three gay teens brave societal backlash—as well as the chance that they might lose their treasured friendship—to embark on a committed polyamorous relationship.
Three’s A Crowd, but Not For Us
This book is unconventional, different, and unique. If you like YA books with a twist, then this could be a great story for you to read.
The blurb for this book explains the plot very well. What I loved about it was how three completely different people can get along so well that they eventually grow to have feelings for each other that deepen into love. They risk it all to express their love for each other and it blossoms into the most fragrant and beautiful flower.
What I also loved about this book is not only are there diary entries, but Danny the artist and writer, has some of his poems in here as well. This makes for a very unique book.
The chemistry between the three very different boys makes them very compatible as well. Opposites Attract is true with them. They grow to love each other so much that they really do turn their back on society and even their families to stay together and to express their feelings for each other. That shows a lot of courage and is really great.
Their differences get them in trouble with others and within their group, but they have each other’s back and their love for each other stretches out to help each other no matter what.
The pacing improved. Due to the three different styles in this book it was a little bit hard to get into in the beginning and the pacing was a little bumpy at first as well. However, once I got to the middle it improved a lot and I enjoyed it more.
The ending is great. The issues get resolved and everyone is happy and they do get to live happily ever after. The ending also calls for a part two which I hope there is one. Continuing the story with the guys in college. That would be great.
I do recommend this story. If you like mmm and you like high school stories and you want something a little different and you love friendships that turn into lovers, then you will absolutely love this story.
