Leaving was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. He would have killed me if I stayed, though. I couldn’t have done it without Warwick’s help. Not only did he give me the out I needed, but also a safe place to live. With my ex looming around every corner, looking for the chance to get his hands on me, I received the best gift ever—a month in England—and I took it!

England was supposed to help Jack get away from his ex and find himself again. I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with him there. Especially when I knew he might stay… indefinitely. With my busy schedule as an ER doctor, an ocean between us, and the trust issues his abusive ex inflicted, the chance of a successful long-distance relationship is close to zero. Loving Jack may be the one thing I can’t fix.

Wow, what a completely emotional read. TRIGGER WARNINGS: domestic violence, abuse, graphic detail. I am so glad I knew ahead of time that this book had details of domestic violence in it. Because of knowing I was able to prepare myself for what I was about to read. If you have triggers to this and cannot mentally prepare yourself for it, then pass this read up. If you can read this book, it is definitely a good read.

Jack is a broken man. He is the shell of his former self. When he looks in the mirror he does not recognize the man staring back at him. He has lost his freedom, his right to make his own choices, even his family. All of this because he got in a relationship with the wrong man. Jack knows that he will likely end up dead if he does not leave Greg but he also knows that if he does leave Greg he will likely end up dead as well, all at the hands of the man who was supposed to love him.

After a particularly bad beating by Greg, Jack ends up in the hospital ER. This is where he meets a doctor named Warwick. Warwick takes one look at Jack and knows his injuries were not because of falling. Then add the way that Greg acts and it seals the deal as to what really happened to Jack.

Warwick tried to convince Jack to tell him the truth but when that does not happen, Warwick does something he has never done before and gives Jack his card with his number on it to hide in case he ever needs help or if he ever decides to leave.

Though he does not expect to actually hear from Jack again, Warwick finds himself hoping that he will. So when Jack does actually call for help, Warwick jumps into action to help him. What comes next, neither man expected. With Greg trying to find Jack, Jack knows that Greg will not stop until he finds him.

Can Jack and Warwick figure out a way to keep Jack safe? How will they deal with everything to come?

This was a great read. It is definitely an emotional roller coaster of a read but know this, there is a happy ending. Andria Large did a great job on this book. I look forward to more by Andria in the future.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
