First do no harm.
Trevor Sanchez left behind a life of war with Alpha Team for a future in medicine. Pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor, Trevor doesn’t have much time for anything other than studying for the next exam in his accelerated medical school. When the Sons of Adam attack the teaching hospital he attends, Trevor can’t stand by and do nothing, especially not when someone’s life is in danger. When that life involves a gorgeous, funny paramedic, Trevor knows he’s in trouble.
Tread with care.
Paramedic Brendan Kane never thought rescuing a patient’s life would put his own at risk. Being targeted by a terrorist group was never covered in his medical training. When his security detail comes with a former member of Alpha Team, Brendan discovers a silver-lining to the situation. Trevor is hot like fire and oh so sexy, taking up space in Brendan’s life in unexpected ways that he’s reluctant to give up.
Never break an oath.
Trevor and Brendan must navigate their way through danger and a searing connection that leaves them both wanting more. If they hope to give the spark burning between them a chance to ignite, they’ll have to outlast the enemy first.
New Horizons is a 28,000 word novella that takes place after In the Requiem in the Metahuman Files series. New Horizons can technically be read as a standalone but characters appear within from the Metahuman Files.
This was a great read. I really enjoyed this book. This was not as long as previous books in the Metahumans files series have been but this book got straight to the point and left nothing to be wondered. This is Trevor’s book. Of course the other members of his team make guest appearances as well.
This is a continuation of The Sons Of Adams attacks and Trevor, though he is now in medical school, finds himself right in the middle of another one of their attacks. But this time the attack takes place in the teaching hospital that Trevor is going to school at. Even though Trevor is no longer a part of the MDF he cannot sit back and do nothing when he knows that there is danger around him. So Trevor immediately jumps into action.
When Trevor reaches the ER where the danger is, he never expected to be attracted to one of the men in danger. Brendan is an EMT driver. When he and his partner get called to the scene of a bombing, they are shocked that the woman that was targeted is still alive. Brendan immediately jumps into action along with his partner in hopes to save the lady’s life.
What neither Brendan or his partner expected was to get the woman to the ER without dying only to have the people responsible for the bombing to be there and try once again to kill her. Brendan is not about to let his patient be killed at least not without trying to save her.
When things start to look hopeless for Brendan, a savior in the form of a man walks in and uses his powers as a meta human to save him and the others around them. Now that Brendan is out of danger, what will happen when sparks fly between Trevor and Brendan? Is Brendan and Trevor truly out of danger or did both men place themselves on someone else’s radar?
This was a good read as I said. I really enjoyed Trevor’s story. I am glad that Trevor was able to have his story told and that he may or may not find his happily ever after as well as those before him. I look forward to the next book by Hailey in the future.
