When Theo Samuels heads off to film on location in the village of Stoneydale, he’s expecting drama to take place on camera, not off. But when he meets gorgeous local lad, Eddie Henderson, he struggles to ignore his attraction. A relationship between the two of them would be utterly impractical, yet they’re drawn together nonetheless. Can they overcome the seemingly endless hurdles between them? Or is their fling destined to remain as just that?

Note: Love on Location has been previously released as part of the Brit Boys: On Boys boxed set.

Actor Theo Samuels is on location for a new film that has the potential to finally launch his career. When he meets local Eddie Henderson they hit it off and Eddie helps Theo explore the village and surrounding area so Theo can get a “feel” of the area for his character.

Theo never expects to like Eddie so much, which is inconvenient really as Theo’s agent has convinced him to stay firmly locked in the closet. After some initial miscommunication, the two strike up a friendship that inevitably leads to more.

As a whole, this quick novella romance is entertaining.

However, two things diminished my enjoyment of the story: first, after a single sexy episode between Theo and Eddie time skips forward weeks and suddenly it’s time for Theo to leave…the reader loses the time of Theo and Eddie building their budding romantic relationship. Second, the story ends with a solid HFN ending that felt unfinished to me and left me wanting more. Frankly, it’s such a short novella, in my opinion it could have benefited from Felthouse fleshing out their initial time together as a couple and adding an epilogue.

All in all, though, it’s a short but sweet romance between two closeted men who start out friends and grow into a relationship.
