Review Summary

An easy to read story of a nice guy looking for Mr. Right while falling for Mr. Right Now.

Book eight in the G-A-Y Series

Can a man who wants nothing more than to be part of a boring old married couple really find happiness with a man whose relationships have only ever lasted until he zips up his fly?

Craig knows what he’s looking for in a lover. He wants someone just like him – a nice guy he can build a nice, simple, uneventful life with. He’s hoping that’s just the sort of man who will answer his internet ad.

Donovan’s nothing like Craig. He’s all about leather, fast cars and relationships that last hours rather than years. They may work at neighbouring desks, and Craig may have a crush on his colleague, but that doesn’t mean he should forget about the kind of man he’s sure will make him happy in the long run.

The only trouble with internet ads is you never know who will answer them…

Craig and Donovan are friends and coworkers and while Craig has developed feelings for sexy free-spirited Donovan he’s sure nothing will ever come of those feelings. He decides to place a singles ad in the hopes of finding someone to form a stable and committed relationship with. But when his ‘blind date’ turns out to be the man of his dreams Craig doesn’t quite know how to react.

An explosive kiss, a mind-blowing orgasm and an introduction to kink turn Craig’s world upside down. However his insecurities send him running. Lucky for him Donovan really does seem to be interested in more than just a one night stand. Can he believe in Donovan, and himself, enough to take a chance at a happy future?

Gay Man Seeks Same is a quick sexy read which I enjoyed reading. I liked both Craig and Donovan and despite their apparent differences I liked them as a couple. Donovan is a Dom, older and more experienced while Craig is a ‘normal’ guy looking for stability and love. Despite the short length of the book the author was able to make them and their evolving relationship interesting and engaging. The story is nicely written, the sex scenes are hot, and I enjoyed the fact that it was the Dom who put his feelings out on the line first. Their relationship, at least romantically, is only a couple of days old and I liked the ending and felt it worked well for the story.

This is part of the author’s G-A-Y Series but can be read as a standalone and the books in the series don’t have to be read in any particular order. I do wish the story were longer since it would be interesting to see how Craig and Donovan’s relationship progresses as Craig learns to live with the D/s lifestyle he’s experiencing for the first time. The BDSM theme is quite mild and shouldn’t be a problem for readers who may not be too comfortable with the more hardcore aspects of this genre. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Dare’s stories in the future although it would be nice if they were longer.

Overall this is a nice read and fans of the author and of this series are sure to enjoy it.
