Happy July 4th to the USA

Happy July 4th to our American friends.

July 4th is a day when Americans spend time with family and friends, celebrating how far their country has come. This year many of them are still suffering the effects of the global recession but they will still celebrate their country’s wonderful history.

Canada and the US have been friends for over a century, with the longest undefended border in the world, and I hope that the friendship continues for many more centuries.

  • I wonder if there’s some significance in the fact that the Toronto Gay Pride parade is today? 🙂 Maybe it’s just a coincidence. 🙂 It’s being billed as the largest GP parade in the world now with participants from many countries, including a large contingent from the US. When did our parade eclipse San Francisco? Maybe they should march on Washington and demand equal rights for gays.

    • I thought Rio was the largest. I think it’s a bit like penis size, large is in the eye of the beholder. LOL

My friend Nathan said he was going today. He’ll be melting if it’s as hot there as here. Ugh.

        >>I think it’s a bit like penis size, large is in the eye of the beholder. LOL < < That is so funny and appropriate considering how many penises will be on parade at the parade. One local Councillor is handing out condoms at the parade - I guess he's expecting some action. 🙂 Nathan will burn up because it's hot, hot, hot today.
