Dan Savage is coming to Berkeley. Is he coming to a campus near you as well?

Do you live in the [California] Bay Area and have interest in seeing award-winning author/columnist/online personality Dan Savage live?  He will be appearing at Zellerbach Hall on the UC Berkeley campus Saturday, November 3, as part of Cal Performances’ 2012/13 Season.

Don’t know who Dan Savage is? Shame on you! Teasing…you may know him best as half the force behind the “It Gets Better” project, the immensely powerful anti-bullying video collection he started with husband Terry Miller which encourages people to submit a video about how life for LGBTQ youth does get better in the hopes of preventing gay teen suicide. Or maybe you’ve heard of his hugely popular “Savage Love” sex advice column?  He is also a frequent contributor to This American Life, the New York Times and Out magazine, and host of the college-touring MTV series, Savage U.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Sunday, August 5, at noon (Donors and Subscribers of Cal Performances can buy today at 1 pm PST; Email Club members next Sunday at 1 pm). Buy tickets at calperformances.org/events.php?event=7731.

Is Dan Savage coming to your city? Leave a message in the comments so folks closer to you can know.
