Interview with Elliott Mackle

Welcome Home, Captain Harding New VersionElliott Mackle will be interviewed on the site in early September and I would like to invite you to submit questions for Elliott about his work.

Elliott was a Rainbow Award Mystery winner in 2012 for his book Only Make Believe, and Captain Harding’s Six Day War was voted Best Romance by readers in the TLA Gaybies Awards Poll.

Elliott’s newest and last book in the Captain Harding series Welcome Home, Captain Harding will be released in September just in time for this interview. 🙂

Please leave your questions in the comments attached to this post by July 20.

I live in Canada and I love big dogs, music, movies, reading and sports – especially baseball

  • I’ve just finished reading “Welcome Home, Captain Harding” and am sad to think this is the last we’ll see of Joe. But all good things come to an end I suppose. I’d like to ask Elliott how he feels about saying goodbye to Joe, and also, what is in the pipeline?

(I was interested that Elliott mentions “The God In Flight” by Laura Argiri as being one of the works that influenced the creation of “Welcome Home , Captain Harding”. That’s one of my favourite gay fiction books, but it isn’t talked about very often, so it was a pleasure to see it crop up in the author’s afterword.)

  • When I was reading the second book in the series I was on one hand pleasantly surprised as a romance lover because I thought that the books took more romantic turn. However I was also wondering whether this was your initial plan to take the books in more romantic direction . It is not that romance felt forced , but the in the first book his romance life felt much grittier if that makes sense?

  • I’m very much looking forward to Elliott’s interview. I don’t have any questions right now, but if I think of any, I’ll be back … 🙂
