A Gay Book Reviews 5+ star read!

A fight for what’s right becomes a fight for his life.

As guilt plagues him, Matthew Elliott’s world begins to spiral out of control. The harder he holds on, the more it slips through his fingers, and he’s helpless to stop it.

Entering into the underground cage-fighting scene, he starts out fighting for what’s right. The deeper he gets, the more guilt consumes him – the more pain he takes for his penance, and he’s soon fighting for more than justice.

He’s fighting for love.

He’s fighting for his life.

turning point

N.R. Walker’s Point of No Return is easily one of my favorite M/M romance books. It is actually one of my two all-time favorites, vying for that title with the wonderful [book:The Final Line|17927956] by Kendall McKenna, depending on my mood. When I heard Ms. Walker was writing a sequel, I could barely contain my excitement. The main characters, Matt and Kira, completely embody everything I love in my M/M romance heroes. Dashing good looks, kindness, compassion, empathy, braveness, passion, red-hot sexuality and a deep, intense love for each other. I let myself get pretty amped up for this one, but my trust in Ms. Walker was solid and I knew she loved her characters as much as her fans and that she wouldn’t let us down with a watered-down, second class follow-up. And, of course, she did not disappoint.

The sequel begins almost one year after Matt and Kira met in Point of No Return. They are still very much in love, living a happy life together. Matt has become a beloved member of Kira’s family and his mother and father treat him as a son, for which he is incredibly grateful. Matt has decided to retire from the police force and follow a new career path in MMA (mixed martial arts) Cage Fighting. Why? Well, that’s a big ‘ol spoiler so you’ll have to read the book to find out. Actually, I’m going to stop there because any more of a synopsis will be a spoiler. I will tell you that Ms. Walker puts both of our boys through the wringer in this book and tests their love and dedication to one another. The story is incredibly exciting, but hard to read at times, especially if you are as devoted to Matt and Kira as a couple as I am. Just to be on the safe side:

Yes, you will shed tears for our boys in this sequel, but honestly, the hardest I cried was at the end when they were tears of happiness. Ms. Walker gave us a glorious HEA, and a promise of another sequel. Fuck yeah!!

If you read and enjoyed Point of No Return, it is a no-brainier that you should read Breaking Point. The sequel matches and may even exceed the original in excitement and originally. (I’ll need another read to be sure. And I can’t wait to read it again!) If you haven’t read Point of No Return yet, and you are a M/M romance fan, good grief, what are you waiting for? Drop everything and read it now! It is MUST READ M/M romance fiction. It’s just that good. But if you don’t want to take my word for it, read the hundreds of reviews here on GoodReads or the reviews over at Amazon. Then you’ll be ready for Breaking Point and all the lovely mental visuals of the glorious Matthew Elliot getting in shape to be a MMA Cage Fighting Champion. A little sample below, ‘cuz I’m nice like that.
