Before Christian can end his relationship with a closeted cheater, he needs to see the evidence firsthand. He disguises himself and attends a masquerade ball escorted by a friend, in search of the Stranger in Black. When he finds him, he gets something entirely different—and much more erotic—than he expected.
Wearing a black-and-gold mask, Jarrod is on the hunt for Chris, the “other woman” his best friend’s fiancé is having an affair with. But a sexy vision in a white gown captures his attention and takes his breath away, which is strange, since he’s gay.
One by one, the pieces fall away, exposing their dual deception. After the masks—and the pants—are off, Christian and Jarrod must work together to support a friend… and maybe become something more than strangers.
“Stranger in Black” is the perfect novella. It has a romance, angst, a case of “HOT” mistaken identities, cross-dressing and of course a loser who gets his due at the end. I enjoyed this read a lot.
The main characters were very nicely developed. I loved Christian. He had a crush on his closeted ass of a boyfriend for a long time but his decisions when it came down to doing the right thing, was amazing. He was compassionate about the feelings of the other party getting cheated on till the end. Then there was Jarrod. He and Christian meets in the most bizarre way but it had a lasting impression on both without them even seeing each others face. Wearing a mask and getting all down and dirty was HOT and SEXY!!!
I liked the ending very much. The cheating issue was dealt with very nicely. Jarrod and Chris get their HEA and it was also nice to see Chris’s friend David finding his love interest.
Nice, fun and a quick read.
