Timothy Mitchell worked his way from humble beginnings to graduate school in Washington, DC. The end is in sight—but so are his funds. Determined not to let his dream slip through his fingers, Timothy goes from part-time jobs to modeling for art classes, to stripping, and finally to working as an escort to pay his tuition.
The nation’s capital is full of powerful men and secrets, which Timothy learns firsthand when he takes on a client who demands absolute anonymity. Even though Timothy realizes he’s sleeping with one of the most influential men in the world, he must keep up the facade. Despite that, their association moves from sex to love.
But power and secrets also mean danger. When Timothy is violently abducted off the street, all because of what—and who—he knows, his lover must make a decision: risk his power and position or lose the man he loves.
Political Grad student, Timothy Mitchell, has worked is way up in life to just now realize that the funds he saved up, are quickly diminishing. Unfortunately, he did not correctly calculate the cost of graduate school and living in Washington, DC., therefore causing him to quickly think outside the box to get the needed funds. He rapidly goes from being a nude model, to stripping and then finally working as an escort. Not too soon after he puts up an online ad with the help of his roommate, he gets a call to service a high-profile client. After arranging to meet at a predetermined spot; he finds himself getting lightly interrogated, swabbed and signing a NDA.
He ends up finding out whom his high-profile client is from a slip up from one of the clients’ security detail. Even with that, Timothy and his client Jared, start getting closer and closer to one another, until something develops between them. This does not mean they don’t run into a few obstacles here and there; and I am not saying that nothing unfortunate happens to the both of them that veer them off course and test their relationship. Side note: Villain is way too obvious!
So, you are thinking, what is there not to like? Well, I would have to say that this story fell short for me. At certain points I was like…. what?!?…. seriously?!? Way too out there; really, way too out there. I love stories about escorts and politics! Really, what is there not to love? With that said, I wanted this to be awesome. After reading the blurb, I was so excited and started reading it right away. It did keep my attention throughout the book, and sometimes not in a good way. I was too caught up in scenes that were too far off course, given who the characters are and their status. Even their dialect seemed a bit too juvenile to me.
Also, we are hardly given any background information (including age) on Jared and Timothy. I have to assume it is a pretty decent age gap. From what I gathered, I know that they are both ridiculously handsome, Timothy comes from meager beginnings, Jared is one of the best ‘high-profile persons’ to date and a few other tidbits. In the end, both Timothy and Jared are given their HEA.
