Betrayed and left for dead by his lover, North has retreated to a secluded island to nurture his coven of witches and their demon partners. His group uses the magic of starlight to bring as much peace to the world as they can. It’s enough. North has no desire to look for love again.

When an accident on a carpentry job reveals that he is a demon, Alan Holsen is sent to North for training. Alan possesses a rare healing ability—one he might be able to use to close the old wounds in North’s heart. While North teaches Alan magic, Alan teaches North to love again, and they both struggle with the leftover resonance of their haunted pasts.

Just when they dare to relax, North’s old enemy returns—and sets his sights on Alan. To save him, North must enlist the aid of neighboring covens, and he learns he isn’t as alone as he thought. But in the end, only North’s love for Alan and the power of the stars have any chance of saving them.

Witches and demons oh my…

Even after two years, North is still trying to get over his lovers’ betrayal. Having removed himself from society, but still staying close to his coven, he relocates to a private island. Trying to keep busy from a past that will not let him be, he trains adolescent demons in hope to better hone their power.

On accident (literally), Alan Holsen, discovers he is a demon when he stops mid-fall while on a job three stories up. Being 21, and finding out that he is a demon, really is pretty late in the game. Especially considering most find out by the age of six. However, just like any demon that hasn’t learned to control and/or use their power, he is sent to train with a witch.

When North and Alan first meet, they have a bit of a rough start. Nonetheless, as time passes they realize that there is more to their student/teacher relationship. Something that will forever change them. Maneuvering through self-doubt, trust and abandonment issues; they finally find their way to each other.

However, when North’s past comes back and causes an upheaval, something occurs that never has happened before. The covens start to work together despite their differences, in hope to better defeat their enemies. Even with outside forces working against them, both Alan and North finally reach their HEA.

Can I just say this book turned out way better than I thought it would; because it did! You will not be let down by this action pack read. The flow and the chemistry between the characters was really good. M. Raiya, I cannot thank you enough for such a pleasant surprise. Also, I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next!

This is the second book in the “Another Healing” series, and it can be read as a standalone.

I love reading books about boys who love other boys <3. Sometimes there is a HEA or HFN, but sometimes it just is. Yes, I love all outcomes even it is not what I hoped for. We all need a good cry from time to time. As you can probably can tell, I love cliffhangers as well. Yeah, I am one of those people :) I read a variety of genres, whether it is dark/taboo, historical, shifters, GFY, SciFi, mysteries/thrillers; I love it all.
