New Vampire Justice: Book One
With pain and loss in their pasts and evil threatening their futures, two vampires will find a love that lasts forever… if they dare.
Carson Locke is dangerous, even by vampire standards. A rare Tabula Rasa vampire, he can wipe the mind of those he bites—human or vampire. Because of this, he’s lived his entire life in isolation. When his family is murdered, Carson runs from those who want him dead. Injured, starving, and about to be executed, he meets Commander Lincoln Samuels, an officer in the New Vampire Justice police force.
Lincoln, a Sanatore vampire, possesses the gift of healing. The moment he encounters Carson, broken and terrified, trying to steal blood to survive, he is compelled to help the other man—despite the risk to himself. Their bond creates something the world has never seen, but others have plans for Carson and his destiny was written long before he was born. He’ll either become a tool to control the vampire world or, with Lincoln by his side, find the courage to fight and become its savior.
I have a new series that I will be waiting for the next book to come out. Impatiently too I might add. This book was beyond amazing in my opinion. It has everything I love about a book. There is mystery, there are vampires and humans, there is a lot of action, there is some extremely hot sex scenes, there is family (both blood and not), and there is love. This book is definitely a wonderful start to what I predict is going to be an extremely excellent series.
I was. Little skeptical about this book at first because even though I love paranormal books I was concerned this was going to be over the top . I am so glad that I was wrong because this book had just enough of everything in it to make this an awesome read.
Carson is a scared vampire who is extremely close to death when he is found resorting to trying to steal blood from the blood bank by the NVJ. Carsons family was murdered and he knew that whomever did it was free him because of him being a very rare type of vampire. More rare than he ever could have imagined and when he meets Lincoln and the pull between the two men is to strong for either of them to ignore the truth about how rare he is comes to life.
Lincoln knows from the moment him and Carson meet that he is something very special. He does not realize just how special until he gives some of his blood which binds the two together and Carson’s abilities submerged. Lincoln being also a rare vampire himself because of having healing blood for other vampires does not realize that he is the catalyst to what is to come for both these men and all of Lincoln’s team for the NVJ.
There is someone extremely evil out there searching for Carson to use him and his abilities as a weapon against whom ever they see fit. No one knows who this person is and the closer they all to finding out who it could be, the more danger everyone is in.
This book does not end in a cliffhanger but it does set up for the next book in the series. It left me wanting more which is a rare thing for me. As far as this book is concerned I did not want to put it down. The characters captured my attention from the very beginning and held me captive to the very end. I loved Carson and Lincoln and I fell in love with their supporting characters as well. I found myself questioning who was going to turn out to be the good guy and who was going to be the bad guy. In being honest I will say that changes many of times throughout the duration of the book.
This is definitely a book I will. W recommending to other people. Jake C Wallace definitely impressed me with this book and I will be checking out more books in the near future. As far as the next book in this series, I will. E reading it as soon as I possibly can my hands on it. I cannot wait to read more about Justin and Max.
