Matthew Callahan has spent seven years struggling against the insatiable hunger for blood consuming him. Unable to stop the vampire inside from preying on humans, he keeps himself confined to a lonely existence.

Everything changes the night he is lured into a trap and taken prisoner by High Lord General Tarrick—a seductive incubus who feeds off sexual energy. Forced into the middle of a war between vampires and incubi, Matthew is used as a weapon against his own kind. Although he’s desperate for freedom, he is unable to deny the burning desire drawing him to the incubus general he now calls Master.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Hello new author! Let me just say this book was amazing, and I am so happy I came across this book! I have to admit that I borrowed this book through my KU subscription. However, I will definitely be purchasing it. It has been a while since I have read a paranormal book that has captured my attention so immensely. Seriously, this book has it all: torture, pain, love, hate, vengeance, war, mystery, suspense and few happy moments thrown in there. Then there are the characters in the book. Some you will grow to love and care for and some you may find you really dislike.

The author does an amazing job with this world that they have created, not to mention the detail and character development that went into this book. The characters that inhabit this book besides humans are: vampires, incubi, gargoyles, witches and a few other things that go bump in the night. I am seriously impressed by this book; hence why I highly recommend this book.

The MC’s, Matthew and Tarrick, start off on the wrong foot and that is putting things mildly. Over time, something starts to grow between the two of them. The dynamic of their so-called relationship is interesting to say the least and things sizzle between the two. In fact, up until Matthew meets Tarrick he was only intimate with women. Unfortunately, that is all I can say about this book without spoiling it for others. I can say that you will be constantly surprised and on the edge of your seat throughout the book.

In the end, we are of course left with a cliffhanger and a few unanswered questions. I seriously hope that something said by one of the characters is untrue. If in fact it is true, and not a calculated lie, then I will have to jump in the book and punch the bitch! Until then, I will have to wait. Again, thank you Jex for such a well put together book. I cannot wait to read what is next!

Side Note: Even though the books MC’s/love interests are male there are some MFF and MF scenes.

I love reading books about boys who love other boys <3. Sometimes there is a HEA or HFN, but sometimes it just is. Yes, I love all outcomes even it is not what I hoped for. We all need a good cry from time to time. As you can probably can tell, I love cliffhangers as well. Yeah, I am one of those people :) I read a variety of genres, whether it is dark/taboo, historical, shifters, GFY, SciFi, mysteries/thrillers; I love it all.
