Tired of being told by straight and gay alike that he loves ”incorrectly,” vampire Ehrichto Salvatolle gave up on the idea of having romantic love long ago. When a member of the created family he’s focused on instead comes under threat from a mysterious illness, Ehrichto strikes a deal with his own sire, to return to the sire’s bed in exchange for his help. But when he meets the great-grandson of the first man to break his heart, Ehrichto spies a chance to have the one thing he’s always wanted: true love.
This book was definitely different from other books that I have read. In some ways I liked it but in other ways I did not.
The reason I did not really care for this book is because I felt like the book was all over the place. What I mean by that is characters came into the picture that was not introduced and you had to wade your way through the book to understand who they were and what they meant to the story. Next I did not like the fact that the book kept jumping one second to the next from the past to the present and there was no clear indication that was what was happening until you was into reading that chapter. It really makes it hard to follow a book like.
What I did like is the storyline about Ehrichto being so in love with Patrick that he could not let go of that live even in death.
Patrick’s life was cut way to short and in the future he has a distant relative that favors him tremendously.Michaek is a dead ringer for Patrick and when Ehrichto sees Michael he believes that Patrick has came back to him. In some ways this is true because both men fall in love with one another even though Ehrichto tried to push Michael away.
In some ways this is a book that reminds me of the universe setting right a wrong. Since Ehrichto could not have the life that he was meant to have with Patrick, the universe instead sent Michael to him to show him that love is still possible.
This was a decent read. As I said there was both good and bad about it. I do believe that other people may enjoy it more then I did but this was definitely not one of the types of books that I personally enjoy. But I do believe that others will.
