This is NOT a standalone story. You need to read The Copper Horse: Fear and Pride for context. This story is set during the events described in Pride and focuses on a side character.

All Jack wanted was to do right by Copper, Master Erik’s ponyboy. Seeing Copper so miserable, Jack tried to help him escape the mansion, but they got caught in the act, and now Jack is sent to the kitchen to help the cook, Mr. Fry as punishment. But Mr. Fry has other plans for the young man he’s waited to get into his hands for quite a while.

Genre: M/M erotic short story

Themes: Seduction, May/December, Victorian, servant

Length: 8,000 words

This is not a standalone. You have to read The Copper Horse:Fear and The Copper Horse:Pride first.

This review might contain mild spoilers for the first two books in the series.

This hot little May/December story features two secondary characters from The Copper Horse series: Mr. Fry, the cook of the Dal estate, and Jack, the stable boy.

Remember the night when Jack tried to “save” Reuben but got caught in the act? We all know what happened to Copper (insert saddest face ever). We also know that John dragged Jack to the kitchen for his punshment. What we didn’t know is what kind of punishment that was. No…it wasn’t peeling potatoes.

Poor Jack…scared out of his mind about what the future holds, enters the kitchen and…look who’s here…Mr. Fry, all muscle and tattoos, wearing his leather apron, WITHOUT a shirt underneath!!! Hot damn!

Despite his hard demeanor, Mr. Fry is a gentle giant. I loved how kind and attentive he was to Jack, and his natural urge to protect him. And I loved how this cozy chat progressed to the hottest sex scene ever!

It’s not just sex, though. The characters already had a connection, and now they ‘re finally able to admit their feelings. Now Jack won’t have to settle anymore. Now he has someone to care for him too.

Jack took a long shaky inhale and closed his eyes, settling against Fry with a smile.

“Now he was important too.”

Must read shortie for the fans of the series!
