Music is his life—submission is his desire.
As part of the hottest rock band on the planet, Code Black, Dax Carter and Jordan Reeves have it all. Their music is driven by their love-hate relationship, and their fans love the conflict they create on stage. It doesn’t help that there’s a simmering attraction between them that Dax refuses to acknowledge because he’s conflicted about being bisexual. Jordan fantasizes about submitting to Dax, who has all the attributes of his perfect master.
With the band under pressure to write the songs for their new album, their manager rents an isolated cabin so Dax and Jordan can have perfect quiet to create. While cooped up together, their creative and personal tension comes to a head. What starts as a fistfight turns into something much more erotic. Has Dax finally realized what Jordan wants from him, and how will Jordan react when he is forced to obey all of Dax’s desires? Can their relationship in and out of the band ever be the same again?
“Power Chords” is an erotic novella about two members of a rock band and how their passion explodes after getting isolated together in a remote cabin. There is not much in the plot department. You know the story if you read the blurb, that’s how small this book is. It’s a novella so I can’t complain about the length of the story but the ending was in conclusive and kind of left me hanging.
Two hot guys are isolated in a remote cabin trying to work on new songs for their new album. Sounds hot right!! Well it was! There is an underlying attraction between the MCs that grows stronger when they are alone together. One dreams of surrendering completely whereas the other is in denial of his sexuality but when they do come together, it was hot and steamy. Their creative juices flow unchecked after they give in to each other and the world is blessed is with another successful album by Code Black, the band.
About the ending, I was not sure if Dax finally gets out of his closet and acknowledge his attraction for Jordan in front of everyone. Jordan was content that Dax is exactly what he always dreamed of but is it start of a relationship??? Well the author was not clear about that at all. It does not have an HFN ending or a HEA so I dropped the rating by 1 star.
Overall this book is a quick read with a steamy encounter as the main feature between two guys who “loved to hate/hated to love” each other.
