As snow flies across Ember Peak, Jones and Tru are making their own kind of warmth, but a family secret could send a chill over their future plans.

Jones Hudson is ending the year the right way. He’s taking his sexy fiancé and his sweet dog on a fun road-trip to visit his mom’s new family. He’s found a groove with new friends at Ember Peak Ranch and his job at a local diner. And, best of all, he’s regularly basking in the flame-hot love of Tru Larkin.

But things go unexpectedly wrong when Jones uncovers news that may change life at Ember Peak forever. And when the secret detonates, the after-burn is more painful than he or Tru could have imagined.

Tru knows it might be too late to save the season, but he’s determined to move forward with his planned surprise for Jones. When a blizzard knocks out power at Ember Peak, he’s forced to rethink his ideas on giving and forgiving. Maybe it’s the gift of a simple vow that will burn brightest on a dark, starless night.

Edie Danford is very close to becoming an auto buy for me. This was magnificent! I very rarely read series that feature the same main characters because they make me bored. Not only I’m not bored with the Ember Peak series, but I just can’t get enough of Jones and Tru!

This story is all about Tru and Jones. Their new relationship, the way they try to navigate it and find their footing, the mistakes, the happy times, the lovemaking….this is what drives the plot. These two wanted each other forever! And you know how this goes sometimes….you want something for so long that when you finally get it you try extra hard not to screw it up. You let things go without discussing them, or you put the other person’s needs and wants above your own.

So yes, mistakes are made and feelings get hurt. But I loved that both characters tried and succeeded to stay true to themselves. And there’s love, so much love and emotion between Tru and Jones…It melted my insides, I tell you!

As for the steam…it sizzles and burns throughout the whole story. If you ‘re worried that the chemistry is fading away as the story goes, don’t be! They still got it! The steamy scenes were so intense, they ‘re even better than in the first story.

The writing, which is what drew me to this author in the first place, is stellar as always.

The only frustrating part of the story is Sandy, Tru’s sister. Grow up already and stop messing things up for everyone!

I can’t wait for Tru Flame the final chapter of the series. Highly recommended!

Note: You can’t read this book as a standalone. It is the sequel of Tru Smoke, which you have to read first.

Mother, wife, teacher and READER. I read MM almost exclusively. My kindle is my best friend and the most important thing in my life after my son. My poor husband... I read MM romance almost exclusively. As a reader I don't have any hard limits except incest. I like Contemporary and Historicals and I rarely read Paranormal unless recommended...
