Ryder Waites will do anything to keep the tiny town of Gallows Grove, Kentucky, from vanishing off the map—even sell his family’s whiskey recipe to Bluegrass Bourbon in Lexington. Hopeful that the larger company can provide necessary improvements to the distillery, Ryder’s ultimate goal is to get Gallows Grove on the Bourbon Trail… and bring in much-needed tourism revenue. But to keep producing Hanged Man Bourbon in Gallows Grove, he’ll have to convince company liaison, unbearably stuffy and seriously hot Adam Keller, that he’s worth the investment.

Adam comes from an old-money family, but he’s determined to make his own way in the world. When he’s sent to Gallows Grove, he questions the life choices that led him to a rented room in a funeral home, in a town full of macabre-themed businesses. And he doesn’t know what to make of Ryder, the descendant of bootleggers who’s on a mission to save his strange town from extinction. When Adam and Ryder put aside their initial mistrust, the results are as smooth as good whiskey. But after Adam’s assignment ends, he’ll have to decide if small-town life and a future with Ryder is to his tastes.

Talk about a humor filled love story. I found myself smiling and laughing more then once while reading this book. It is one of those feel good books with some drama but a lot more humor and love. Avon Gale did an incredible job writing this book that is for sure.

Ryder is such a trip. He may not have lived anywhere other then Gallows Grove and he may not have been extremely well educated but he is an amazing individual. There is this light about him that drawls people in from the darkness. He has an amazing personality and loves where he lives and the people that lives there. He is wiling to do anything to keep his town from drowning and that includes selling the recipe to his family whiskey recipe. Ryder may not have worldly knowledge like some might but he has something way better, a sense of humor, a huge heart, and the capacity to love others unconditionally without wanting anything in return.

Adam is the complete opposite of Ryder. He is up tight. He takes everything very seriously including his job. He is sent to Gallow Grove to find out if the distillery will be able to sustain the upgrades that may need to be done and if the distillery is going to cost more money then it would be worth to keep making the whiskey there or not. At first glance you would think that Adam has no sense of adventure or knows how to enjoy life. But Ryder is able to get Adam to loosen up and start to enjoy life. These two men start to get close and then comes the end of Adam’s stay in Gallow Grove and Adam decides it is time to put an end to what has developed between him and Ryder also.

It is a messy ending and neither are none to thrilled about it but they both know that it is over and they will not see one another again. Or will fate step in and give these two men a second chance after all?

This book really was an incredible read. I truly enjoyed it so much. Avon Gale did an extremely amazing job making these two men so lovable not to mention all of the other people in Gallow Grove. I look forward to more of Avon’s books in the future.

This book was a humor filled romance that sucked me in and held my attention to the very end. I fell in love with these characters. They are total opposites but so right for each other. Amazing read!!!

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
