Nick and Cameron face old demons, and find new love, on a Christmas road trip.

Former Marine Nick Sheridan is at a crossroads. With his entire life ahead of him he struggles to find direction and his place in the world. Car sharing to get home for his sister’s Christmas wedding seems like a good idea at first. Spending the time with the man he kissed and left years before, maybe not so much.

Cameron Bennett lost most of his teenage years to cancer and he now lives every day to the fullest. He decides to drive from Seattle to Vermont for his best friend’s wedding and capture moments of it on film. He hadn’t planned on car sharing with the man who kissed him ten years ago, but somehow he ends up with a brooding Nick by his side.

Along the way, the men learn that sometimes life plans mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Love can be found in the most unexpected of ways, and facing your demons head on is sometimes the only way to live.

What do you do when you are running from something that is hard to run from? You take a road trip with the person that was your first crush and hope that the trip ends with you both making it there in one piece.

That is what happened with both Cameron and Nick. Both men have things that thy are dealing with in their personal live that are affecting them both tremendously and both are closed lipped about it. Both men crushed on the other growing up but after a kiss in their teenage years that led to Cameron running as fast and as far as he could, it left them both below wing the other was not truly interested in the other.

So this road trip as adults was not going to be an easy one on either man. Both men will have to face the demons of their past along the way. They have to face the fact that they both believed the wrong thing about the other back when they was teenagers and that they missed so much time together. They both had to face how they started feeling about the other and what they was willing to do about them feelings. And last but not least they both had to learn to live and love again.

This was not an easy journey for either of them. They both had a lot of things to overcome in order to make the leap of living and loving again and to do this together. But the journey was worth it in the long run because they both did learn how to enjoy life again. They learned how to trust the other. They learned that looking forward to the future was not as dark and bleak as they originally thought it was but more bright and held a lot of love and happiness for both of them.

This read was really a great read. It may not have been an easy journey but that is part of what made this book so good because both Nick and Cameron had to fight for they ultimately wanted and in turn made getting their hearts desires that much sweeter. R.J. Scott truly did an incredible job on this book and I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
