From rescue to romance…
Teach a wounded submissive the value of his service. The task ought to be an easy one for an experienced dominant like Henry Webb.
But novice Jay Kress challenges his teacher like no other. Still bearing the bruises of an encounter outside the bounds of safe consensual play, Jay is desperate to submit to the man who saved him—and shamed by his desires.
Henry recognizes the dangers of a relationship built on hero worship. He’ll teach Jay how to stay safe, that’s all. He won’t take advantage of the younger man’s trust. He won’t share his fantasies about his dark-haired, athletic student. He’ll never claim this submissive for his own…
Wait, a BDSM book that is light on the sex. *gulp* This is a new one for me!
Becoming His Master is book four in the Neighborly Affection series. I read this as a stand-alone and didn’t feel the lack of information from the first three books hindered my enjoyment of this one.
Jay Kress is a submissive who has had his submission taken advantage of. He has been hurt and abused and he now lacks trust in a Dom. Henry Webb is a patient, caring Dominant who takes it upon himself to teach Jay the ways of true, safe, fulfilling submission in two months time. And he has his work cut out for him! Jay’s kind of a hot-mess.
This book is told entirely from Henry’s POV, so it was blatantly obvious what a good, kind man Henry is. The raw emotions these men felt for each other was such a delight that I found myself not missing the sex! Love and emotion is really what BDSM is all about for me, but I, of course, like the hot sex too. Fortunately this book does quite well without it.
If you are a M/M BDSM fan (there is some ménage in this book with a woman, in case that is a deal breaker for you) and enjoy reading about the safely and security a submissive can feel from a gentle, patient, hot-as-fuck Dom and can go 187 pages without hot monkey sex, this book is for you! (Come on! You can do it!) Recommended.
