BLURB TEXT A life story about friendship, love, heartache, loss, acceptance and redemption.
It all started when Adam Cooper moved to the house next door. The brown haired boy with hazel eyes speckled with green was the coolest boy in the world and Ben Holt did everything he could do to win his friendship. As they are pulled apart and thrown back together, fighting to keep their heads above water, you can follow Ben and Adam in their journey through life, as they cross oceans to be together.
A shorter first draft of the story was published at Wattpad, in February of 2016, and had over 126K reads.
This story needs to come with a warning for those that have triggers to drug abuse and mental illness because that is definitely a big part of this story. With that said this story really touched me because it covers topics that everyday people go through and have to face on a daily basis. Kyra Cross really put a lot of thought into Ben’s character and it definitely showed in the writing. This is not an easy tooic to write about, I would imagine but Kyra Cross did it with dignity and grace.
Ben really captured my heart from the time he was introduced as a small boy till the very end as a father. His story was not an easy story to read because he faced not only depression but other mental illness that can come along with it. Ben is this person with such a huge heart but I think a lot of his issues started when he was young and tbhey got progressively worse the older he got.
Adam is an amazing person also. He accepted Ben flaws and all and never gave up on the love that he had for Ben, even when most would had washed their hands of him after all the ups and downs that he went through with him.
This book is such a mixture of young love, heartache, friendships, family, loneliness, helplessness, hope, forgiveness, and so much more. It is definitely a book that will rip you apart and put you back together again.
