A Sanctuary Novel

Can cats and dogs ever get along, let alone fall in love?

Sam knows you can never go home again. As an orphaned feline shifter raised by wolves, being an outcast is nothing new to him. But the pack is still his family, and when one of them passes away, Sam returns to the New Mexico desert to say good-bye.

Gus is a loner who rarely returns to his pack, but as fate would have it, Sam is there when he chooses to visit. The history between Gus and Sam is tumultuous, to say the least, but when Gus gets an eyeful of the grown-up and gorgeous version of his childhood bully, he can’t control his reaction. And he isn’t alone.

The attraction is powerful, but so are their differences. And with trouble brewing in the pack and danger surrounding them, Sam and Gus might not have the opportunity to seek common ground.

This action-packed shifter novel is the ultimate opposites attract and enemies-to-lovers romance, and it includes a bonus novella, In the Dog House.

First Edition published by Torquere Press, 2011.

I found this to be a good shifter read. Opposites do attract and these two men are proof of that.

Gus is a shifter but has always been an outsider to his pack as far as they was concerned. Each full moon he is locked away in a room himself for his protection. He is different from the rest of the pack which is wolf shifters because he is a cat shifter. So that makes him an outsider in most people’s eyes.

Gus has tried to pave his own way in his life by making a life for himself by himself in the city. He was a dancer and now currently a choreographer. He either goes to work or is at his own personal play pen that he he calls home. No matter how the others view him as an outsider when his mom calls with the bad news that his poppy passed away, Gus cannot stay away.

This is what leads to the beginning of Gus’s life changing forever. Once back home Gus runs into his childhood bully and best friends brother Sam again and the sparks really start to fly.

The problem lies in the fact that Gus is a cat shifter and Sam is a wolf shifter. So they are not by all reasoning supposed to be attracted to one another, much less mates.

But fate and life in general has other plans for these two men. Through major turmoil and fighting the inevitable, these two men FINALLY face the fact that they are meant for another. But fate once again steps in and places hardship and misery in their path when Gus is kidnapped and tortured.

Can Sam find Gus in time to save him or will Gus finally give up? If Sam does find Gus what condition will he be in? Will these two still feel the same about one another? Will Gus ever be able to get over how cruel some people/shifters can be? These are ok the questions that you have to read the book for in order to find the answers.

I really enjoyed this action packed read. There was some hot sexy scenes. There was suspense. There was regret, sadness, forgiveness, and second chances at love. So in other words a little bit of everything for those who love to read a good shifter book. The only thing that left me confused in this book was why everyone felt that Gus was an outsider other than the fact he was a cat shifter. Beyond that it really confused me as to why they locked him away and felt he could not do his thing with everyone else. So that is were the four star rating came in to play. Other then that this was a wonderful read.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
