US Marshal Jaeger Tripp is assigned to the Federal Witness Protection Program. The hurt and destruction he’s seen—along with protecting criminals who are only cooperating with the authorities to keep themselves out of jail—have left him with a bleak and jaded view of both life and people. His current assignment is Wren O’Riley, a computer wizard who witnessed a high-profile cartel hit.

To Jaeger, Wren is the same as any other job. He must protect him long enough to get him to testify at trial, and his personal feelings have no place in his work and must be set aside. But that’s easier said than done. On the run and fighting for their lives, Jaeger and Wren can’t help but grow closer. And Jaeger can’t help seeing beyond Wren’s nerdy exterior to a man who might be just what Jaeger needs to settle his soul and capture his heart—if they survive long enough to get that chance.

This series just keeps getting better and better. This book in particular is my favorite in the series after having read the previous books and knowing the way of The Black Knights and the moral dilemma that they go through. This one took a major twist and made this book the best in the series thus far and only makes me want to read the next book in the series that much more to see what is going to happen next.

Jaeger in my opinion is unlike any of the previous black knight. He does not follow the path that most of the previous black knights took. In my opinion he did not really face his moral dilemma until after he passed in this life that the book is based on so he learned what he lost too late. Or did he?

Wren is really put through the wringer in this book. He has emotional distress coming at him from every direction not too mention all the danger he is in and the ones that he is in danger from.

When Jaeger and Wren finally gave into their attraction to one another I was so excited but their relationship was based purely off of sex where Jaeger was concerned because he is the type of man that when he decides on a path in life, he does not let emotions shade him. So Wren fell in love with a man that once again could not or would not return his feelings but Wren knew from the start that their days togther was numbered and was bound and determined to enjoy what little happiness he has with Jaeger for as long as he can.

This book was full of so many dangerous situations and these characters fought to the very end to get what the was seeking out of life. They were seeking safety, love, happiness, and a life that they could be proud of. There was more then one twist to this book and I kept being blown away by all the different twist and turns. I definitely cannot wait till the next book comes out. I have a feeling it is going to be just as intense and interesting as this one was if not more so.

This is definitely on my recommended read list because it will blow you away.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
