Jameson Havercamp, a psych from a conservative religious colony, has come to Oberon—unique among the Common Worlds—in search of a rare substance called pith. He’s guided through the wilds on his quest by Xander Kinnson, a handsome, cocky skythane with a troubled past.

Neither knows that Oberon is facing imminent destruction. Even as the world starts to fall apart around them, they have no idea what’s coming—or the bond that will develop between them as they race to avert a cataclysm.

Together, they will journey to uncover the secrets of this strange and singular world, even as it takes them beyond the bounds of reality itself to discover what truly binds them together.

Sometimes a legend about future events may not be a legend at all but a fortune of what will happen in the event that certain things are not done to make the legend come true. That is the case with this book.

Oberon is only one of the many cities in the universe but lately things have been occurring like bad storms and meteor’s taking out shuttle full of citizens. Also in recent history there has become a shortage of pith which is used for various reason as medication.

Jameson is sent to Oberon to try and help figure out what the cause of the shortage is but once there after he meets his guide, Xander, both men’s lives are quickly placed in a very dangerous situation.. Neither man understands why they are being hunted nor do they particularly like one another from first meetings. But they have to work togther to survive.

When it looks like their lives may be coming to a quick end an unexpected ally helps them, Quince. Quick is very aware what is going on and how to stop it. Quince has been working behind the scenes for a very long time to help what everyone believed was legend to come true. Quince has many secrets and most of not all of them revolve around Jameson and Xander and the importance of the two of them coming togther and hopefully bounding in the same way as their past ancestors did.

Throughout the whole book new revelations comes to light and new people enter the picture that are just as important as Jameson and Xander are to making the legend become a reality in order to save not only Oberon but another realm that neither man was aware of , nor was they aware of the importance of the other realm was until the time was just right for them to learn most of the truths.

This book at first from first glimpse made me think that I would not enjoy it but that so was not the case. I found I was quickly engrossed in this read and could not put it down. J. Scott Coatswotth kept coming up with new spins to the story at every turn of the page all the way to the very last line. Which by the way leads up to another book I hope since I would say that J. Scott left us with a major cliffhanger and many questions.

I cannot wait till the next book comes out. I have a feeling it is going to be explosive and I cannot wait to see what happenes. Truly a very fascinating read!!!!

Galley copy of Skythane provided by Dreamspinner Press in exchange of an honest review.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
