Stormy Weather: Book Two

The weather in the Florida swamps is looking a little rocky for retired football player, Galen, his laid-back lover, Shane, and their gator, Vic.

When Galen buys into a football team, promoting and wheeling and dealing are the name of the game. He’s so busy he hardly gets to see Shane anymore, which means a lot of lonely naps on the couch.

Shane is tied up with managing the bar, covering for unreliable bartenders, and serving drinks to good-time party boys. Used to be Galen couldn’t get enough of him. Now he can hardly pry Galen away from the phone, and Shane starts to wonder where he stands in Galen’s life. Will things ever be the way they were?

When Galen starts to forget their dates, the pressure builds, jealousy and hurt swirling into a tropical storm. Galen and Shane need to seek shelter in each other before everything they’ve built is washed away.

Ok so I am all for a book with a lot of sexy time but this book was an overload of it. I love a good book with with a good sex scene, who doesn’t? But for this book I feel like there was all sex and hardly any storyline. When I read the description of this book I was looking forward to the storyline with some good scenes thrown in but that is not what I felt I got.

I am being honest when I say I ended up having a sex overload with this book and found that I was skipping over the sexy times, which is rare for me, but then I realized about 70 percent through the book that was all there really was to this book because I had skipped more of the book then I read about the storyline. I found that out of every four of five pages that it would have a paragraph or so about what was going on in the story but then it would quickly revert back to it being sex again.

For that alone I gave this book a three. And in my opinion that is really pushing it on scoring. In my opinion this was a book that was a porno flick in a book form which is fine other then the fact that from the description of the book it should have been so much more. If the description had not lead me to believe that there was a good storyline then I would have known from the start what I was getting into and would have rated the book into accordance of what I felt it was, an extremely erotic read. But that was not the case and that is why I am giving it a three.

The other reason I am giving it a three is because I felt like the characters in this book are depicted to come off as what some TV shows would describe and protest an uneducated “hick” would be and that does not set well with me. I felt these two men was not given justice for their characters. There should have been more substance to their characters the then “yeah, yeah” which is their favorite lines. I felt this was more of a cheap porno then two men that love each other. I know that is harsh of me to say but that is exactly how I felt while I was reading this.

I love most of B.A. Tortuga’s books but this one was not up to the standards that I have come to expect from this author. That being said, I will not let my feelings for this book negatively impact me reading any future books.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
