A warrior’s broken soul.
A vampire’s kind heart.

Kelas Vartorvi escaped from one vampire only to find himself bound to another. Roshan saved his life and honor demands Kelas stays by his side until he repays the debt.

Roshan takes his broody new werewolf bodyguard in stride. Slowly, his relentless good nature begins to break down Kelas’s walls.

And their tentative friendship becomes something more.

An unexpected visitor from Roshan’s past throws them into a political plot and gives Kelas a chance for revenge. But are the gods blessing Kelas, or asking for a sacrifice?

Content warnings: Contains slavery, violence, body control, bottom shaming, misogyny, and rape mentioned in backstory. All sex between the heroes is clearly consensual.

Sometimes we are wrong when we believe that the Gods are punishing us. Especially when you escape one fate to be placed in what one might view as the same fate all over again but with a different person. The thing is fate has a way of placing us exactly where we need to be and with exactly who we need to be with. This is what happened to Kelas.

Kelas’ life has been nothing but a living nightmare since he was forced into becoming a Hound as it is called in this book. A hound is basically a werewolf shifter that is controlled by a blood bond to a vampire. When a blood bond is established the shifter werewolf has no free will and no control over what it does. This was Kelas’ fate.

Kelas was strong willed even though his blood bond vampire tried to break him. Eventually Kelas was able to finally escape her and break the blood bond. But he was no where near safe because Zoja wanted her prized Hound back. So a reward was placed for his capture. On the occasion that he was almost captured, Kelas fought with all he had even though he was out numbered. What Kelas thought was the end of him was actually just the beginning because a savior stepped in at the last minute and saved him.

When Kelas learned that he had been saved by a man named Roshan, he was not happy in the slightest. He was not happy because he is now bound by honor to follow Roshan until he fulfilles being able to save Roshan’s life. This is a curse in Kelas’ point of view because he just got rid of a bond to one vampire to be bound by honor to another. Kelas believes The Fates hate him but the it is the opposite that is to be true.

Little did Kelas know but when Roshan saved him, fate was stepping in to bring the person into his life that would forever change it. Little did Kelas also know but a war was coming and Toshan and Kelas would be instrumental in the outcome over Zoja.

Can Kelas get over he past and the mental and physical abuse he sustained at the hands of his former master in order to find his happiness or will he let the negative affect the outcome of his future and the future of others as well?

This book was unbelievable. It is full of action, adventure, danger, mystery, suspense, friendship, family, and love. Devin Harnois definitely wrote a book that will be remembered after the book is finished. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. From one moment to the next I never knew what was going to happen next. A very exciting read!!!

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
