Beard

I just wanted to be left alone. After the disastrous turn my life took four years ago, I swore that I’d never let my guard down for anyone ever again. I left everything I knew behind and started over again. Things were going just fine until nearly six feet of pure temptation walked through the doors of my bar. It’s been a year and I’ve done a pretty good job of avoiding him. Things change when his friends get him drunk and leave him stranded on his birthday. I shouldn’t have given him a place to crash because now I can’t shake him.

Soccer

He intrigued me from the moment we met, and I haven’t exactly been subtle about wanting him. The green-eyed bartender seems to want nothing to do with me, but I don’t miss the way he watches me when he thinks no one will notice. I’ve let him pretend long enough, and it’s definitely time to make my move. On the field, I face tough competitors every week, but this one will make me work harder than I ever have before. If I want to win, I’m going to have to up my game because he is a pro at pushing me away.

This is a standalone novella with no cliffhanger.

Sometimes a trauma in our past can be hard to let go of and move on from and that is exactly what happened to Beard.

Beard is a closed off individual that does not let people in. He seems to be moody and unhappy, never to smile or even make much of a conversation with anyone. Those who see him probably think he is just a jerk because of his demeanor but it has to do with his past that he acts the way he does. The truth is he is lonely but moreover he is scared. Scared to be who he is in the public. Scared to let anyone close to him. Scared to get hurt. He lives his life in fear, plain and simple.

Soccer is the exact opposite of Beard. He is open in his sexuality and he is an all around happy person. He has also had a major crush and half in love with Beard for the past year now but like with everyone else, Beard acts like he is not alive.

All this starts to change on the night of Soccer’s birthday when his buddies take off without him and leaving him stranded at Beard’s bar.

Will Soccer ever be able to break down the walk that Beard has built up? Once he does how will he react when he learns Beards story and the trauma he has had to face? Can these two men find a happily ever after together or is there just too much standing in their way?

This is a great read about facing your fear in order to find happiness. I truly felt bad for Beard and the things he has had to go through and the pain of his past. If anyone is strong enough to handle it, it is definitely Soccer. He is the type of person that faces things head on and has strong enough shoulders to carry the weight of the world if so be it for the one he loves. I really enjoyed his book. It was a great read.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
