Harkin Ravenscroft, The Dragon King, never thought he would find his true mate. Harkin figured he had already lived that part of his life. Not wanting to wait, he took a squire dragon as his mate and they had five sons before Roland died at the hands of a hunter. Now his sons are grown and his son Quinn has already started a family of his own. Harkin is content taking care of his family and leading his people, even if he does think longingly of the power of the true mate bond. While staying at the Crimson Plantation and nurturing the dragon nature of his new grandson he finds himself, shockingly, drawn to a human in the cells beneath the Crimson Mansion and driven to protect him with everything he has. Harkin never thought he would find his true mate, but Fate is a strange lady. Now with danger threatening the lives of his people and mystery surrounding his young mate, Harkin will have to balance the fate of his dragons and the fate of his love otherwise he might just lose it all.

Lachlan Edwards doesn’t know where he is, but he knows he’s in trouble. He saw something he was never meant to see and now he finds himself locked in a cell and face to face with the most fearsome men he’s ever met. Lachlan is a loner, he doesn’t put himself out, and now he’s worried that no one will notice him missing. The Coven tries to reason with him, but it’s impossible to penetrate his fear. That all changes when an impossibly large man with dark auburn hair sweeps him away and promises to protect him. He knows that everyone is keeping secrets from him, but he feels safe in the large man’s arms. There is something otherworldly happening at the Crimson Plantation and Lachlan can feel almost nothing but mystery and confusion. If he cannot find the forest through the trees, he may end up losing his destiny and the man meant to share it with him.

Nothing in Crimson is ever what it seems to be.

I love paranormal books and jumped at the chance to read his book. With that being said, I was also skeptical about reading it because this is the first book I have read in the series and I was worried about being lost and needing to read the other books before it to know what was going on. In retrospect I guess I could have read the other books but as far as being lost is concerned, I wasn’t. This book could be read as a stand alone so that made it so much better.

As far as this book is concerned, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It was part intriguing and part mysterious. As far as the characters themselves goes I love how B.A. Streaks made them such lovable characters.

When Lachlan was introduced in this book you could not help but feel sorry for him because he was completely lost to what was going on and why he was being held captive. To make matters worse he did believe and knew about some paranormal but just not aspects of it so he was kind of thrown into the deep end of the ocean without a safety net.

When Harkin realized that his mate was at the same Coven as he was and felt that he was in distress, there was no stopping him from getting to him, nor was there no thinking about the consequences or the fact that he had never met hnoerson. All he knew was his Fated mate was in trouble and that he needed to get to them.

Once the two met Harkin had no way of knowing if this human named Lachlan would accept him as his mate much less the secrets he still had to reveal.

Can Lachlan except Harkin and all the secrets that are about to come out about not only Harkin but about Lachlan himself or will he choose to walk away? Can two men that have never met anyone before make a life together as Fated mates or is it all just a pipe dream?

This book was an incredibly good read. It had me intrigued from the get go and kept me intrigued all the way through the book. I believe I will be going back and reading the books before this one in the series and I will definitely be reading the next book or books in this series as they come out. Great story and awesome series.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
