The love of my life is dead. Is there a reason to live anymore?

I’m a veteran Marine. Terrorists took not only my foot, but also my wife. Recurrent nightmares, a dead-end job, and a painful limp are all I have left. My best friend, Tucker, and my sister, Lizette, keep me afloat. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Tucker… literally. And then, out of nowhere, there are these feelings. The kind I haven’t felt in years. The kind I’m not sure I can handle, or even want to. But they’ve started wrapping around my broken heart, trying to mend it. Only they are not for a woman, but for the man suddenly sharing my bed. I’m not so sure I’m ready to give love another go.

The war took my hearing, but I’m alive. Many of my friends are not. I am building a life with my best friend, Dennis. We have become practically inseparable. And now, we are more than friends. I’ve never had feelings like these for a man. My parents, my brother, my buddy, Duke—will they understand how I feel about Dennis? Can I risk losing my family?

First Edition published as At War by KDP Select, 2015.

I read this book a while back when Andria Large had this trilogy out as individual books and I loved it so much that when she decided to make the book a complete trilogy all in one, I had to reread it again. I loved it just as much now as I did them.

In being honest I think that At War #1 was the first male/male book that I read and from that point on I have been hooked on this genre since. So rereading this book was a rea treat for me.

Tucker and Dennis was both injured in the line of duty. Both former marines became friends in the hospital where they was both dealing with the things that happened to the while on active duty. Since the moment they met they became best friends and understood things about one another and the things they went through that others did not understand.

Neither man has ever been attracted to another man before so when both started developing feelings for the other, it came as a shock to both of them. But with how close they already was, it seemed only natural for them to see where things went from there with them. They knew they loved one another as friends already so neither really had any kind of issues with seeing if that could turn into a different kind of love.

Now don’t get me wrong and think it was all roses and happily ever after because it wasn’t. These two men had many obstacles in their way they needed to face and both had personal issues they had to deal with and figure out also. It was not an easy journey or transition for them but if they can learn to trust one another and lean on the other when they need it then they have a chance to lay the war they both feel in their hearts to rest and find some peace together.

Andria Large did a truly amazing job on this trilogy. I feel in love with it the first time I read it and I fell in love again a second time when I reread it again. This is definitely a book I suggest for others to read if they have not done so yet. I look forward to more books by Andria in the future.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
