It begins with a message that David cannot ignore:

I want to see you.

He agrees, and on a cold winter’s night, David and Phillip will come together to sift through the wreckage of the memory of a life no longer lived.

David is burdened, carrying with him the heavy guilt of the past six years upon his shoulders.

Phillip offers redemption.

Brace yourselves readers coz this story is going to make you cry, like really cry complete with ugly tears, blotchy faces and red noses. This is like the most intensely emotional and angsty stories that I have ever read. It tore my heart apart. T.J. Klune can really write emotions and he filled the pages of this book with truck-loads of them.

The blurb is really vague and I kind of anticipated angst but what I got was an ocean of it. It was a bittersweet story about second chances and regrets and finally enduring hurts and pains together. It was really difficult to read. Amazingly well-written, this story will make you feel like no one else business.

I won’t give out any spoiler coz you need to read this book yourself to experience it. It’s a sad story with roiling emotions and a bittersweet ending which was like a balm on my shredded heart. Though the wounds were still there and would always be present, David and Philip would always have each other to bear the pain together.

After the emotional roller-coaster this book put me through, I sincerely request Mr. Klune to give us a sugary-sweet happy ending in his next book. PLEASE!!!
