Special Agent John Flynn is everything Jerry Parker is not: dangerously handsome, coolly charismatic, and respected by his peers. Special Agent Parker is dedicated and meticulous, but his abrasive personality has given him a reputation for being difficult. When new information on a cold case appears, Parker is assigned to work with Flynn, and the sparks fly as their investigative styles clash. Contact with a strange artifact changes everything when it bestows unusual and unpredictable powers on Flynn… and the two men must learn to trust each other before a killer strikes again.

A Paranormal Mystery
Take one part Cold Case, one part crime drama, and add a super power, and you got yourself a great plot for a book. Now, add one gay man and one overconfident gorgeous FBI agent and now you have a super m/m novel.
I loved this book. It’s told from Jerry’s point of view, so we get to listen to his thoughts and they put a smile on my face. He has a way with words.
The book’s blurb doesn’t really reveal a lot about the storyline, so I assume the author did not want to reveal a lot so I won’t either. I do believe it would reveal too many spoilers. Suffice it to say, that this is one great book. If you love what I mentioned in my first paragraph then you will love this book.
The main characters are very compatible and they play off each other brilliantly. There’s a lot of action, a whole lot of mystery and FBI investigations, and the Paranormal element is great. We’re along for the ride with Flynn as he struggles to adapt to his new powers and Jerry is right alongside supporting, helping, and guiding him every step of the way. He turns into a true friend instead of an enemy as it was in the beginning.
Their Romance doesn’t happen until the end of the book because the majority of the book is the mystery. Also, at the end is the one and only sex scene.
I highly recommend this book. If you like a book with sex throughout or periodically, then you might not like this; but if you love a paranormal mystery, then you will love it as I did.
