A sinister vampire offers Charon a choice he can’t refuse: play a deadly game of winner takes all, losers die.
Charon relishes the competition and molds himself into a sexy vampire who defies vampire law, savoring his power and embracing the role of villain. He also loves surrounding himself with hot young men. But when an alluring vampire stalks him and threatens to turn him into the Vampire Council unless he helps with a seemingly impossible task, will Charon risk his perfectly narcissistic life on the challenge? Does he have any other choice?
This is a very different type of read where the good guys are the main characters. Some would say this is a dark read where the main character is the villain and bad guy. And thus far this is definitely not a love story unless the main character is in love with themselves.
Charon has long ago decided the closest he will get to anyone is between the sheets. He does not trust easily and the last thing he wants to do is fall in love with someone only to be hurt by them. Being in foster care most of his life, love is the last thing he trusts so he would rather have a one night stand type of relationship with the men he is interested in.
One night he meets a man that turns out to be so much more. This is the night his life will change forever and not in the hearts and romance type of way you may be thinking. This man is about to offer Charon something that he never thought was capable of being true. This offer is an offer of a game of life and death and eternal life and riches for the winner. This is an offer to become a vampire.
Charon is game from the very beginning and is willing to do whatever it takes in order to win the eternal life.
Charon believes that becoming a vampire is the most wonderful thing that could ever happen to him and he embraces it. He is even willing to carry out the plan of tormenting the Vampire council for his mentor. Things feel amazinbband powerful for Charon but can living without love be enough for Charon or will he embrace this lifestyle and continue on the path of destruction?
This was a good read and I honestly found it to be more interesting then I originally thought that it would be. Now I cannot wait for the nxt book to come out so I can find out what is going to happen next for Charon.
