Take a chance.
Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin doesn’t trust easily, and he most certainly doesn’t trust spies. He’ll work with them if ordered to, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. Except Agent Sean Delaney is proving to be the exception to the rule. There’s something about Sean that gets under Alexei’s skin and won’t let go. Alexei would be lying if he said he wasn’t interested in what lay beneath the agent’s mask. When they’re assigned together for a mission, Alexei vows to keep Sean safe all while trying to coax the hot agent into his bed.
Hold onto hope.
Agent Sean Delaney has spent his entire adult life living a lie for his country. When the MDF tasks him with finding evidence of criminal wrong-doing against the owner of a private military company, Sean knows exactly how to play the game to get what he wants. He just doesn’t know how to handle Alexei’s advances, nor his own attraction to the younger soldier. Being a spy is lonely work, and Sean knows he should keep his distance, but saying no to Alexei is impossible from the moment they first kiss.
In a world of lies, the truth can be deadly.
When the mission takes a turn for the worse, the only thing left to do is run. In the wake of betrayal, and in the path of danger, can their fragile trust survive the battle?
I just really like this series. There is so much action that it is hard to get bored!!
This book was a great read. Hailey Turner has done an amazing job at keeping this series very interesting and leaving the reader ready for the next book to come out because you just know something crazy is going to happen to this team of men and women and it is just a matter of time before the danger comes their way.
I love how Hailey takes each book in this series and keeps them in sync with what the previous book in the series was leading up too but at the same time each book is completely different in its own respect to the characters then the previous books in the series. So it makes it very interesting for the reader because it is not the same plot over and over again and we as the reader know that no matter what the plot is going to be, we are in for something amazing, action packed, and dangerous. Not to mention the fact that all of that is going on but then you add in the fact that through it all the main characters find each other and so much more in one another.
This book was no different in that aspect. In my opinion Alexei and Sean was not the most likely couple but when these two do figure it all out and find their way to one another, Sparks definitely fly.
I really enjoyed this read about Sean and Alexei because after book 2 in this series and how these two did not really get along that great, I never would have expected them to come together like they did. It was pleasantly surprising in my opinion but definitely not unwelcome.
I cannot wait to see what Hailey has next for these men and women and who is going to find their partner next.
