He’s nobody’s definition of Mr. Right—but that might make him perfect.
Matthew Hart is heir to the family fortune and owner of Hart & Home. When a near-death experience has him fretting over the future, he decides he needs a husband, and not just any husband—an appropriate man to protect the Hart legacy. The last thing Matthew expects is to cross paths with Jax Foster, his first love and the boy who crushed his heart when he disappeared.
Jax is unlikely to make Matthew’s list of suitable candidates. Bad boy, vagabond, deep in debt, with a father who can’t keep out of trouble, Jax has nothing to offer—except his heart and a second chance at the romance they never got to explore.
Charlie Cochet has been one of my most favorite authors since the first time I picked up one of her books. Ever since then when a book by Charlie comes out I am quick to get it and read it because I know whatever is on the inside of that book, it is going to be simply amazing.
This book is no exception. It is a different pace from my favorite series by Charlie which is “The Thirds Series” but hat does not mean that it is no less good. This book may not be a shifter book but it is such an incredible read. I honestly would not mind having another book with these characters in it either as part of another book as guest appearances or even a continuation of their story.
Matthew and Jax both, in my opinion, are such amazing men. Matthew could be a stuck up individual with all the money he has but he is the opposite. He is a caring individual that cares about his employees and the people around him. He does not think anyone is beneath him nor does he treat them as a they are either.
Even Jax has never had much, the last thing he wants is for someone to pay his way. He wants his art work to speak for itself and he wants no hand outs from anyone. That makes His and Matthew’s budding reconciliation that much more amazing because both men just truly want the other and not what they can offer one another.
The most intriguing part of this book is the mystery aspect of who it is that seems to want to hurt both of He men. It makes this already amazing love story that much more interesting. This was a book I could not put down and definitely did not get enough of. As I stated I truly hope there will be more from them in the future. Another incredible read by Charlie Cochet.
